K. Robertson: If you only use one medium ie Acrylic like me then the Water colour and oil mixes are not valuable. Thus a lot isn't useful IMHO. Had thought 1500 mixes Great but when only using a 1/3 not quite so grand

lynn4591: I'm new to painting with watercolors, especially mixing colors. This book is very helpful in providing precise paint color names and how much to mix together. I find that if I know what colors to mix together, I can figure out the rest. And, this book does just that as well as the precise amounts. The author also provides clear descriptions of basic color theory in very understandable terms. It's a good resource to have on hand. I would recommend it.

Dukesmom: I started painting in 2020 and have been regularly painting ever since. I’m improving but there is a lot that I don’t understand and struggle with and mixing paints is one of them. This book has helped me immensely and I haven’t had it for more than a week yet.
If you’re struggling with color mixing and color theory this book will help. Once you understand these things you’re going to move up to the next level.

Aronde: Very well done and well explained. How many percent of different colors to create a new one, which tones for a landscape or a portrait, etc. I’d recommend cause it’s so useful to any painter.

C.J.C.J.: I am a longtime drawer and printmaker but new painter. I'm finding myself struggling with color choices and how to mix colors. This books is perfect. It's taken the guesswork out of color mixing, and is especially helpful in creating a range of skin tones for portraits. This book has saved me from wasting paint and therefore from wasting money!
Get the spiral bound version for sure. It's nice that it lays flat/open whole you're using in as a refrences.
