Mrb7:
I have tried a number of brands of “clarified butter” from Amazon, Walmart, some la-di-da gourmet places, and my own kitchen. I think this product is properly good old southern style boiled butter rather than true blue aisian cultured ghee. But that’s ok with me. Probably a cultural preference, but I’m not as fond of proper cultured ghee.
This stuff is excellent. And the price is right so that I don’t fuss with making it myself. It is a little bit more expensive than making it at home from grocery store butter. But it saves a boatload of time, and it is just as good as my homemade. Remember that two pounds of butter won’t give you two pounds of finished product. This is really two pounds of product. And it is extremely clean and ready to go. No draining or straining. Just use it.
I do let it melt and decant into a smaller jar to sit on the cooktop. The 32 oz jar it a bit unwieldy on the stove.

I've been using this brand of ghee for a while and reorder regularly. The flavor is good, and it's shelf stable long enough for even a single person to use up. IOW, I've never had any spoil or go rancid on me. The price is also good.
I originally bought ghee to use for Indian cooking, curries and the like. Then I started using half ghee/half olive oil to saute chicken breasts, fish, steaks, even some veggies. Add a little garlic/good garlic salt (Lawry's is the best) and you have truly amazing flavor!

JaneenKP: Like Oprah loves bread, I Love Butter! I happened to find a jar of Ghee at my local market thinking anything that has butter is golden. I'm a novice cooker which I actually have a knack for. It has quickly become a cooking must for me. The best part of Ghee is that it smoothly spreads over anything unlike butter for salmon, chicken, Cornish hens etc. The second best thing is that you only have to apply it once before cooking and that's it. No more going into a hot oven and re-applying. Everything comes out golden and crisp. I bought this particular brand with the ever capable AmazonSmile site because price wise at this size it's less expensive than buying at the grocery store where it's about $7 plus. And you don't have to buy it so often.

Heather HW.: This product comes in a glass jar exactly as pictured. The Ghee is a nice golden yellow color with a rich, buttery taste. It does not indicate that the milk comes from grassfed cows (if not indicated it probably doesn't), however the taste is comparable to more expensive grassfed ghee I have purchased elsewhere which is a plus. An upside of ghee is that since milk solids have been removed it is excellent in high heat cooking without burning as regular butter would, and a little goes a really long way as the flavor is quite concentrated. It is excellent for cooking as an oil, and simply drizzled on vegetables, popcorn, etc. for the butter flavor. Most ghee is shelf stable and does not need refrigeration, however please note that this jar specifically indicates that this product should be refrigerated after opening which results in a solidification of the product hence the loss of a star. While that warning may simply be to extend the life of the product or as a precautionary measure, it is inconvenient storing what is typically a shelf stable product in the fridge as it turns into a solid brick that requires a spoon to scrape out which can be annoying considering...
