ZINUS 7 Inch Smart Steel Foundation Box Spring for Mattress Support

Jessie: The instructions were pretty easy to understand. Assembly wasn't hard at all. Everything was clearly labeled. I put this together myself within 30 mins. All parts were included. I ordered a queen size and it fits pretty into my bed. Seems really well made and stable. Haven't slept in new bed long to know how long it'll hold up, but seems like it'll last a long time. I was afraid to buy this because I had the traditional wooden box springs. I'm so glad I went this route. I would recommend and buy again.

Jen Malang: I was concerned that it will squeak and make noise based on the joints and build. So far nothing. Also I would not use this for my main bedroom for.long term, this is more suited for guest rooms where the beds don't get hammered few times a week

Bella BlueBella Blue: Only 6 1/2 inches, as shown in the photo. Otherwise, it's OK. Fairly easy to put together. Not as sturdy as I would have expected. Heavier than expected. If I had it to do over again, I would have purchased a traditional wood box spring. Lighter weight and tride and true.

Sonny: This "box spring"/frame has worked very well for the twin mattress we purchased online for our Airbnb. My main concern was whether the mattress would slide around when on top. This has not been the case. The frame comes with double sided tape to offer extra resistance to movement. We also use a bed skirt, which can be tricky to keep on this frame. However, the double sided tape helps with this as well.

Strong, durable frame. I'm not concerned about it breaking. Still space underneath for storage as well.

The only thing I might recommend is for the company to create some kind of attachment for the legs so that you can add a traditional headboard to this frame. So far we have used zip ties for the headboard legs to attach to the frame legs. We have Velcro command tape on the back of the headboard and wall to keep it from moving around.

If you don't have a headboard just buy something that attaches to the wall to create the illusion of a headboard.

All-in-all, solid purchase.

Eric Harder: I’ve bought several Zinus frames previously and was very happy with them. My most recent purchase was a bit of a disappointment, however. Bought a king 7” box spring, and found that the included tools and hardware didn’t work very well together. I’m not sure if we got a batch of screws that were a bit out of spec, but the included Allan-head tools did not fit the slots with ease. This led to a decent amount of cursing and frustration for this particular build. Then we found that the frame didn’t have the tape that is normally included to prevent squeaks and other noises. Finally, the cover for the king box spring was like a fitted sheet which leaves the bottom open, unlike the full envelope cover that came with our queen box spring. On the plus side, it feels sturdy and I’m sure it will be fine over the long run, just a bit disappointing to find things weren’t quite up to the same standard as previous purchases.

BillBill: To be sure, this is a rock solid, quality product that will last for years and years. Getting it assembled, however, is a chore. I've read the other reviews where someone says something like..."It's so Easy! It only took me 30 minutes." My experience is different. Clearly, the folks at Zinus really tried to make it easy, but they failed. Let me take you through it...

1) The directions. As you can see in the photo, for step one, you are to assemble 2 components together. In the bottom left, there is a diagram of what it is supposed to look like when it's fully assembled with 2 red check marks to indicate the 2 components you're supposed to be working on. Well, that's nice, but all of the components in the diagram are the same black color and they are going every which way so it's REALLY tough to figure out the orientation of the 2 components you're working on in this step and all the rest. It would be AWESOME if Zinus grayed out all the components you aren't supposed to be working on and the only 2 you're supposed to be working on were black. That way, you can tell the orientation of your work for this step.
