Benjamin B.: I've been welding for around 25 years.
The only welder I've ever used was a Miller thunderbolt 225, that's a big AC transformer style welder.
When I needed a welder to use with a generator I did hours of reading and comparing specs before I bought the Zeny. According to the specs it puts out the most output amps with the least input amps of any inverter welder I could find. That was important since I had to keep input amps around 20 to use it with the generator.
I'll warn you that I haven't done any long term testing.
I just came in from the shop after using it for the first time and I'm impressed! I used 1/8" 6011. I was welding on a 2.5"x2.5" 1/4" wall square tube. I think I started out with 125 amps, whatever it went to automatically went to when I pushed the knob 3 times like the directions said to do. It seemed maybe not quite enough amps, my Arc died a couple times while running beads, so I turned it up to about 140, maybe more, then it was actually to hot, so I turned it down and found the sweet spot.
As long as it keeps working I'm happy with this machine. I've already made an extension cord and modified a set of longer leads that I already had to fit this...

Korn: I'm a trained combination pipe welder (i.e. tig & stick), I worked as a welder in industrial construction (power plants, refineries, ship yards, etc.) for 10 years, have welded tig, stick, mig, and dual shield flux core on the job, went on to get my CWI (American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector) and I must say I'm very impressed with this little machine. Plugged it in to 110v and it welded a 3/32 7018 rod with no problem - it laid a very nice bead with good penetration, good wetting around the edges, and very little spatter.

Although some reviews said the stinger and ground clamp were cheap, the stinger I got is almost as good as a Tweco (the best you can buy) and the ground clamp was decent quality too. The leads could be longer, but they tell you the length, so there is nothing to complain about there.

Honestly, the only thing I could complain about would be the fact that the welding shield and chipping hammer/wire bush combo are an insult to the quality of the machine and leads you get! However, I won't complain about that because I suppose they would be useful as an everything you need to get started package (minus the welding materials of course)...

TheRomanGnomeTheRomanGnome: This welder is pretty nice, I paid $118 dollars total for it with a 5% off coupon. The unit I received is different than the one pictured in the dimensions picture, it has a nice rotary encoder knob for the amperage adjustment with good detents and a built in button on the knob which cycles between fixed amperages for different sized electrodes. You can tell this is a mass produced machine they also sell in Europe because the switch is on the back and the electrode presets when the knob is pressed shows millimeters instead of imperial units, not a big deal though. In the description on here it says it has a 60% duty cycle at 160 amps but on my machine it shows it having only a 20% duty cycle at 160 amps (see pic), I haven’t tested it out yet to see because 99% of what I weld doesn’t require an electrode that large which would need that kind of amperage. I have not tested out the 110v function of it either due to my circuit in the garage being on a 15 amp breaker and my old 110v stick welder would set the breaker off every 5 minutes. The 110v capabilities will vary widely depending on how good your 110v circuit is. The ground clamp and stinger it came with are cheap and not...

Conner M.Conner M.: Completely impressed. Just as good as the name brand inverter welders. Built a whole 8’ flatbed out of 3”-4” channel iron with it as soon as I got it. Only complaint is the ground clamp and electrode holder. Both of which I will be replacing. Works great on both, 220v and 120v with 7018 3/32 rod. I have tried larger rod with 120v and wasn’t real impressed. Make sure you have a good strong electrical circuit if you plan to use it on 120v very often. I run the amperage around 25 amps more on 120v than I would on 220v and see good results.
