Stephen Palmer: I use these gloves for cold water river dredging and they work so well! I would say that another layer, such as work gloves, are needed for water around 40 degrees and under although, they are extremely durable, with the Kevlar wrapped around the fingertips. TIP: If you're looking for more finger protection (and grip) for handling slippery rocks like I do, you can dip the fingertips of the gloves in what is known as 'tool dip', or a can of latex rubber. All in all, great gloves!

Paul Trammell: These are nice gloves, but I had to modify them so I could grip my spear (for spearfishing). The palm is slick, at least when underwater, and would not grip the rubber grip on my pole spear. I painted the surface of the palm with liquid wire insulation, and this did the trick. Now they work well.
