Mike Tarrani: I had been using the pump style cork remover (from a different brand) for years. It worked beautifully, and my wife loves it. Same with vacuum stoppers. I decided to purchase a few more, both as spares and for travel. I made the mistake of ordering three sets from a brand called FLASNAKE. They were pure junk. Nothing except the foil cutter worked. Every item in this set, however, worked flawlessly. I intend to order two more sets for the same reasons and use I intended for the FLASNAKE sets. This is definitely easy to use, and the air pump for corks is actually more effective than the older one that we have. Yes, this set costs more, but it does what it's designed to do. Sadly I cannot say that about all of the ones available from different brands here.

B: We bought these to give us hostess gifts. The box is great and they are a unique way to open wine. We also kept one for ourselves. A couple of points to consider: They don’t work on every bottle. We have a favorites type of wine where it doesn’t work, but it works on almost all others. These openers also don’t last that long but for the price you’d expect that. It may be a testament to how much wine we drink but we seem to replace these every couple of months. Not a problem, just something to understand

Dw: I must have received a defective product because the bottle opener I received did not work whatsoever. The spout which is supposed to pierce the cork and pump air was fully blocked when I opened the package. After we made several attempts to unblock the spout manually, we ended up cutting it open to see what the problem was. It seemed like a manufacturing issue because the metal tube did not have a hole at the top to allow air to flow through the needle. Disappointed with the opener, but the other things worked well.

NTN: Bought this for myself in June 2020. I've used this at least a dozen times in & it had only failed me once. The cork was so porous that wine started to come out of the cork. But it also shows that the problem was not that of the Wine Opener, but of the cork.
Other than that scenario, the Wine Cork remover is super easy. I prefer it more than a cork screw. The foil cut is sharp and works well. No problems with the wine pump & pourer.

Clever User Name: As much as I hate to admit it, I have arthritis in my hands. It started when I was young, and has only gotten worse with each successive trip around the sun. Using any corkscrew lately involves a little pain. But a good bottle of Cabernet is worth it, right?

No. It's no longer necessary.

This wine bottle opener is amazing. It is easy to use, fast, and painless. If it lasts only one year, it was a bargain - I'll gladly order another. Puncturing the cork is easy, then 3 or 4 pumps is all that's required to make the cork pop out of the bottle. You'll be rewarded with the satisfying sound of the pop, then the cork is easily removed from the opener. The design is genius, and it works at least as well as advertised.
