I have finally realized that in the Canadian winter it is best to turn motion sensing off to conserve battery life. If you do not do this, you will be dismounting the battery every week or more to recharge it indoors. The unit otherwise is feature-rich and works well. Even if you connect the unit to a power supply, it works off the battery. My only suggestion would be to reprogram the unit so that it works off the connected supply OR the battery or to use the battery only as a backup. This will enable the unit to work through the Canadian winters. Customer service is good. They answered all my questions patiently and brought my issues to a successful conclusion. They actually gave me a replacement unit almost a year after I purchased it.

Amazon Customer: The positives first. The video is great - I love the perspective where you can see more vertically rather that horizontally. It makes it more likely that faces of taller people are captured. The motion capture is ok. There were a few instances where it completely missed a delivery person. Alexa integration works well.. Support is great, they typically respond within 24 hours.
The bad. I bought this doorbell mainly because I liked the idea of the SD card being separate from the doorbell and also because the chime includes a WiFi signal booster. This all seems great on paper but one feature is a success and the other a failure. The WiFi signal is great. However as there are two separate units, the chime and doorbell need to maintain a connection. This is where it fails. It seems that the two cannot maintain a connection through a basic wall or door (the chime is plugged in right in the entryway less than 5 feet from the door).
When this situation occurs the only remedy is to go outside, remove the doorbell and reset it. I didn't mind the first few times but this became annoying. The doorbell is in a "disconnected" state several times a week. The real problem is that...

SMWSMW: Update: March 29th
Downgraded to 4 stars. Had some connectivity issues between the chime and the doorbell, even though they are 24"/2 foot apart. I eventually had to reset everything several times until they eventually reconnected. It works now, but I am wondering how reliable it will be.

The construction and quality of this are excellent. Really top notch. It's a fair size compared to other brands, but that fine. Installing was super-simple, and so was connecting it. I was impressed that it came with extra scews in case of losing one or two, and it also had extension wires for the house wiring, very clear instruction and even some "Protected by Wuuk" sentry stickers.
I did have a few problems upgrading the firmware, but after restarting my phone and the app and chime, it all came together.
Picture quality in the day time is excellent, and pretty good at night. What I actually really like about the Wuuk is the seamless interaction with Alexa, and the customization of the phone and it's performance. It has not given me a false positive, which in itself is pretty amazing. I can set the sensitivity and detection area, and it has several...

VD: The doorbell appears to be feature-rich and quite well built. No problems there.
The installation was (and still is) a hassle. I planned to use existing doorbell wires to keep it powered at all times and mount it to the brick wall using the screws. Problems:
(1) it was an absolute hassle to get the pairing to work! The camera wouldn't just detect/recognize the QR code shown in the iFone app. Clicking on the QR code helped but after many tries and resets!
(2) WiFi connection was very problematic. The connection started but there were no notifications whatsoever. After a another failed attempt to pair, I set the phone down and went to do other things... then the device said WiFi connection was successful!
(3) Firmware upgrade: the chime got upgraded quite quickly, the doorbell itself didn't upgrade after many attempts. Waiting like 10-15min and then it fails... maybe need to try again at later time
My biggest concern: the doorbell disconnects and becomes unreachable from an app after some time of operation. This happens at random. I need to turn it off and then on. The battery was at least 50% charged. Not really sure what is going on.
WiFi signal is...

Mark Beierl: Update May 2022
I am still very happy with this doorbell. Battery still lasts > 6 weeks per charge, and it often will last longer than my Ring.

Original review from January 15, 2021:
While there are features that look like they are yet to be enabled (face recognition, Alexa or IFTTT integration), this is an amazing little doorbell for the price. It comes complete with its own chime, which is where videos can be stored locally if you provide a microsd card.
Videos are kept online for a rolling period 2 days free of charge. For a subscription you can view older videos, or install an SD card as mentioned. This doorbell does not suffer from the issue that my Ring does, which is being able to view the doorbell while it is busy processing video for cloud storage. Let me explain: when the Wuuk detects motion, I can launch the app at any time and see live, or review the video immediately. With the Ring, once I get a notification, the device fails to show live preview as it appears to be busy talking to the Ring servers. And, of course, without a Ring subscription, you cannot view that preview, so the doorbell...

Bill: I have been interested in installing an entry way camera for some time but hesitated on the assumption that either the systems would be expensive or quite challenging for me to connect and successfully activate. A friend identified the WUUK doorbell system as a potential solution for both of those concerns. They were absolutely correct.
I ordered the smart doorbell, the adjustable mount, and the extra memory SD card. The doorbell and adjustable mount packages arrived immediately and SD card next day. The packaging is clean and professional. Its presentation inside, when opened, is well organized. The smart doorbell itself is appealing in its appearance, nice colors and well generated and placed symbols, meaning no embarrassment to have it centered on my door. It feels substantial and projects well.
One has the choice to either wire the doorbell to existing system, which was of no interest to me, or to mount it with a battery that is periodically recharged. The box says battery life of six months and we will see if that is the case. The package includes electric cord connection for charging the doorbell. First step was to charge with a green signal light showing when fully...

R. Lau: The media could not be loaded. I like the new Wuuk Doorbell better than the 1st Gen one, it took me a couple of try figure out how to set up from Ethernet connection to Wi-Fi connection, and the chime requires a space for it unlike the old one which you just plug it in the wall outlet, I placed it on a little stand so that I will not miss it and trip over or kick it if it is on the floor. Once it is set up, it works perfectly and the battery life seems to last longer before recharging.
