Amazon Customer: warm shoe. size fits with no need to go up by a half size. The toe area is quite firm and not as comfortable, but that may just be the new shoe effect. will hopefully soften with repeated use

Jessica H: Love these boots. I have a Columbia Omni heat parka that I LOVE for freezing Midwestern winters, which prompted me to purchase these boots. I love the thin sole that allows me to remain a sense of the terrain underneath my feet. These fit somewhat like a rigid barefoot sole on the bottom, which is a huge plus for me (I previously was wearing UGGS to walk the dogs). I feel much more nimble and safe in these, especially on thick surfaces. They seem to keep my feet very warm with only one pair of regular socks. It was 24 today and I took the dogs out for a 20 minute walk with no problems.
I did end up returning the pair I ordered on Amazon due to size. Per reviews, I orders a half size up. I normally wear a size 6 women's or a 6W when I can find it. I have very wide and almost rectangular feet with short toes. I ordered a size 6.5 initially, thinking I would need a larger size. They were too large, sliding on my heels and not tight enough in the ankle area (I also have broad ankles -kind of cankles- so I'm not wispy in that area either). I wore them around the house for about an hour and could tell they would stretch a bit and be way too large. Return process was easy. Amazon...

Haligonia: Really like this boot. Kept my feet warm and dry. I often walked 5k or more a day in them and they stood up well. Easy and comfortable to walk in without being clunky. Dealt with snow well, a little slippy on icy pavements. Easy to get on and off. I am very picky about footwear as I have a difficult foot to fit. This boot is great. It does fit a little snug and I would buy half a size bigger next time. But there will be a next time!

Taymat21: Love the boots. The only problem was that they are sized very small. I wear a 7.5 shoe, 8 if there are no half-sizes. I returned the size 8 and ordered 9. I would have ordered 8.5 but it was not available. The 9's are fine with an added insole.

Robin: I normally wear an 8W or 8.5M in most shoes. I ordered these boots in a 9M, due to previous experience with the Columbia Minx line: I have a 2 year old pair of the taller Minx lace-up boots in a size 8.5M. When I saw that these Shorty boots have a suede vamp, I decided to go up to a 9M, assuming the instep might be a bit snug thanks to the suede construction.
Turns out "a bit snug" was an understatement. Wearing thin wool socks, I can get my right foot into the right boot with no trouble -- but there's a lot of pressure across the top (instep) of that foot. My left foot's wider and fuller than my right. The left boot's instep is so tight, I feel like I'll lose circulation in my left foot if I wear the boot longer than 10 minutes. That's how long I was able to withstand the pain before needing to yank the boot off. It was awful.
I'm really bummed about this. I love my older taller Minx boots, and since these Shorty boots use the same Omni-Heat material, I know they'd keep my feet toasty warm during Chicago winters. If your feet aren't wide, you may want to give these a go. You can get away with thin wool socks under these boots, instead of super thick socks, and your...

Joelle: A very comfortable boot, I got a half size bigger as some of the posts suggested. Fits very snug, if I would have went a size larger I would have been able to wear a heavier sock. Hasn’t been cold enough to test the warmth.
