IT SMELLS SO BAD! The closest thing I can compare it to is d*ck cheese. Like heavy scented d cheese. It lasts a long time and my dog loves it. But every time she chews on that the whole room stinks

This review is for Wild Eats Water Buffalo Retriever Style Cheek Roll Dog Chews-5 Pack, 5 inch. My dog loves rawhide, but I've always been concerned about him eating it. Before I'd educated myself I'd bought him several different brands of nylon bones. He didn't really like them but in a pinch he would knaw on them. While traveling I unwittingly purchased a cheek roll, unaware of what it even was. My dog is an avid chewer, but it lasted a long time and he loved them more than the rawhide, so I had high hopes for these. I'm not in the habit of smelling his treats so I don't know if that one had an odor, but this one does, as some reviewers have mentioned. I don't know if it's the odor or something else but I am very disappointed, it's been a week and he refuses to touch them. Back to the drawing board!

My dog really loved this treat and he chewed for 3 hours straight. He’s a super chewer so every other treat or toy would be demolished by this time but the product stood up well! He then fell asleep and chewed in the middle of the night multiple times when he woke up.
PS: the smell is definitely terrible once you pick it up and smell it

I have ordered these 6 times over the last almost 2 years. I have a boxer (Emma) she’ll be 2 in February 2024. She’s about 60lbs of mischief. She’s a moderate chewer – has never really chewed anything crazy in my house (furniture, shoes etc.) BUT I always keep something (hopefully) more interesting available for her to chew. These twists fit that bill!
1 chew lasts her anywhere from a day to a week-sometimes a little longer-depending on her mood, I guess. Sometimes she chews them every free minute…sometimes she ignores it for days, but she does love these, they occupy her and give her a way to channel that chew drive.
No strong smell to these until she’s chewed it for awhile and then the chewed end is gummy. Then it smells kind of like an old dish rag. Nothing that I smell across the room or anything but if you touch it and bring it toward your face-yeah.
I tried buying the other 9-inch rolls (Plain and wrapped) offered by Wild Eats and they were too wide for Emma to get a good chew with, so she tried and then ignored them. The width of these twists have been perfect.
