Sharen: Bought these to make chinese five spice seasoning since it was one of the required ingredients. Came in nice sized bag...should last for quite a bit. This is also good for making tea.

David Patrick: I definitely cannot purchase whole or powder form Star Anise in this in this volume at my local store. Amazon was my only option to buy this product at a reasonable price.
This particular product is whole Star Anise which allows me to grind only the amount needed at the time of use.
Hopefully it will remain fresher longer than in a powdered form.

SlickSlick: They have an absolutely fabulous flavor.. 2 x1lb bags came in a box and I'm lucky if I have 5 stars broken out of the whole bag/my container now.i know there is 1 broken for sure due to me breaking off a small piece and testing it .. very good quality and value for the price so I would most likely I'm going to buy these again.
