Kindle-Kunde Susanne: Ich wollte mal ein vernünftiges, stabiles Produkt zum Eierschneiden haben. Nach ungefähr 3 Billigprodukten, die ich alle nach zweimaliger Benutzung in den Mülleimer werfen musste, Drähte verbogen oder sonstiges,
habe ich hier ein Gerät gefunden dass meinen Erwartungen voll entspricht. Ich hoffe es ist wirklich Made in Germany - nach diesem Kriterium habe ich mich auch dafür entschieden. Absolute Kaufempfehlung

billrosenblatt: I use egg slicers often for mushrooms, strawberries, etc., not just eggs. Every other egg slicer I've used is cheaply made and breaks after a few uses. This is the only one that lasts. It costs more than the others but is totally worth it.

FrogFriend: Having broken my long-enduring plastic and wire egg slicer while trying to slice a mushroom (my folly to think it would work, but it looked plausible on the internet...) I found this slicer that promised to work on mushrooms (and HB eggs.) Reviewers cautioned not to try to suddenly jam a mushroom through, but rather apply steady, firm pressure. That was a lot of pressure for me to apply. What works well, though, is to gently rub off or rough up some of the tougher mushroom head surface. This makes it easier to slice. I like the width for mushrooms and eggs. Being handy for more than one use makes it worth it to store. I store it flat w/ long utensils in a shallow drawer, so it's handy in more ways than one.

Mona Lisa (M.W.): I've owned and broken many egg slicers in my day. After my last one hit the dust, I decided to get serious, so I went on a quest for the best one I could find. I wanted a slicer not so much for eggs, but one that would blast through Button mushrooms. We are big mushroom eaters in this house, but many times before I got this tool, I did not want to take the time to fool with them.

I'm loading up on Button mushrooms every time I go to the grocery store! This tool is fantastic for mushrooms alone. Not only that, it's fun to slice them.
I stopped doing the dab-with-a-paper towel thing to clean my mushrooms. I now wash my mushrooms in water, which makes it go much more quickly. Some say that's a no-no but Cook's Illustrated says it's not, and I listen to them. (they did a soak test and confirmed they don't absorb water...) I can take a giant pack of mushrooms from Costco, wash them and slice them with this tool in no time compared to what it would take to do by hand.
