Henry: I live in a 100 year old house. I was brought up in a 150 year old house. This tableware looks like it belongs. And I believe it will hold up well. They have some weight; not heavy but not flimsy either.

Jay: only available product and manufacturing of current product not the same quality as product manufactured in previous years, maybe this is due to the manufacturer changing from Malaysia to China. The machining or (de-burr process) at manufacturing level is not quality as edges during the stamping process are still evident and the weight of each individual piece is far less and not balanced. My original goal was to find the same product in the smoky version which was discontinued. I had to settle with this product as I needed something at least close to what I had to add to the service amounts that I already had. Will not entertain the products from this manufacturer in the future as continued quality was not seemingly important to retain client confidence. Brand integrity is important for client retention and suffers as a result when short run goals for profits and pricing are allowed to overtake the age old standard of producing a quality product that is durable and a product the client will be proud to use with family, guests, and friends; yielding new clients from free word of mouth marketing.The manufacturer then has a product it can be proud to sell. maybe made in America...

emleighaemleigha: I have been eyeing this Wallace Hotel set for a while; I finally took the plunge and ordered a trial set as I really love the mismatched designs of this set.

While this set doesn't at all feel cheap, I would not described it as heavyweight either. My current everyday flatware is about or slightly heavier than this Wallace Hotel set, which may have caused my perception to be a bit skewed -- that is possible. Additionally, each piece definitely looks heavier than it actually is. However, having said that, for the price point, these pieces are certainly acceptable (weight-wise).

I was not expecting deeply engraved design for this price. For the $40 price I paid for the set, I am on-the-fence, but borderline satistifed with the stamped design. Honestly, I am pleasantly happy with the overall look of the pieces. The piece are really nice, beautifully shiny, and most of the designs are adequately crisp. Unfortunately, there are some areas on some of the pieces where the details are not embossed as deeply; the inconsistency varies by each piece.

My expectations for this set was not at all unrealistic; I was hoping that it would be nice enough for everyday use and...
