Amazon Customer: Just a heads up- The 6 inch model is a lot louder than the 4 inch. There is a very noticeable difference. Consider where it's going to be located.

dee: I use this fan for my 4x8 tent to keep my humidity at around 60% in veg. Fan goes on and off through out the day. The 4x8 tent get negative pressure on the lowest setting with one 4 inch port open on the bottom of the tent to bring in air.

I left off 1 star and gave it a 2 for the noise level. Its very load to me and I wanted to send it back but decided not too. Maybe its so load because I have it on the left side of the tent going out the top side and I can see the fan from the outside of the tent exhaust port. Maybe I need to move it to the center of the room and add a bend to the ducting to lower the noise.

Still a great fan and worth the money it moves a lot of air. I will add a update when I change the fan position in the room.

JaW: I bought 2 of these kits since I caught one on sale. I do not regret buying either kit.

The fan instantly helped me keep my temps and humidity in check in a small room and a 5x5 tent. Even on low the exhaust fan sucks in the walls of my tent (I need to add an inlet fan to fix this).

The carbon filter does a great job at keeping the smell down in both the room and the tent. There is literally no smell at all on the other side of the door or tent.

The only 2 things I could complain a little about is that the fan is a little loud and they should have included a 3rd hose clamp in the kit. Even on low, there is no way someone is going to walk in a room with your tent and exhaust running and not wonder what the noise is.

Overall this is a great kit and well worth the money. Don't expect it to be whisper quiet and pickup an extra 6" hose clamp before you try to install it and I think you'll be very happy with this kit.

BLS: Components seem high quality. I am deducting one star because the kit as supplied is incomplete. It comes with two hose clamps but my installation requires three. I used the two clamps to attach the ducting to the fan's intake and exhaust ports. I will need to buy another clamp to connect to the carbon filter -- an unanticipated delay.

I followed the No. 4 setup method shown on Vivosun's amazon page. Two of the four configurations suggested by Vivosun, including the "preferred method," require 3 clamps. Seems like, at this price point, there should be one included with the carbon filter.

Contacted Vivosun about this. They are quite responsive ... but no joy.

Update: Consider also that you may not be able to return this item for full credit, since unpacking the hose deforms it. I am gong to send the fan and filter back anyway. I'm trying to exhaust hot air --- not really concerned about filtering the smell of the peppers --- and I found that the fan/filter combo does little better job of removing the heat than a passive setup using only the ducting.

Update to the update: I returned the unit without the hose since I had cut it in two, and promptly...
