GG: I used the vacuum pump to install a minisplit and hope to install a few more to replace an aging central unit. I read the minisplit instructions and watched several youtube videos. The pump kit comes with a lot of accessories but the only things needed for a minisplit are what is shown on the photo... the pump, a gauge manifold, two hoses and the adapter to hook up to the low pressure port.

Raquel Hardy: I used this equipment to check for leaks and recharge my air conditioner after installing a block off kit in my 2007 Tahoe. Th equipment generally worked well. The two issues I did have were I). The connection to the high pressure line starting leaking while doing the recharge. That was likely my fault, I must not have tightened it enough when assembling. I also found the can tap somewhat weird. The refrigerant would not flow when opened wide but would flow when opened half way. Not sure if that is normal. The gauges and the vacuum pump itself worked flawlessly and I saved over $300 versus what the garage wanted for this work. Plus I now have these tools for the next time I need air conditioning work.

LinckG: The gauges are good. They work as intended. I have not used the leak detector. So, no comment on that. I have not used the pump on an AC unit, but I did use it for a 5 gallon vacuum chamber to degas a silicon mold. It worked fine, although was a little under powered. Of course that is a larger volume than a car AC. I was not happy to see it spew lubricant out of the exhaust hole. I hadn't even filled it to the max line. It was a slightly below it.

Captn-Dwt: These are good, pro quality gauges, hoses and fittings. For just shy of 20 years I was an auto tech, and the shop had these tools. Now I need my own set, and this is a good quality setup. The pump is a pump. I works fine, is quiet, and draws down to -30 like it should in just a minute or two for a medium Mini-split AC system. The pump oil is in a sealed container, so there's no issues with it leaking during shipment. The pump has a breather cap to keep oil from leaking if the pump gets on it's side. The soft case is way too flimsy, but it works. The leak detector seems fine, but I did not have any leaks so it's difficult to judge at this point. I'd recommend this kit as a good value and good tools.

Mike W.: Bought the kit to vacuum a split system install primarily for the vacuum pump. 3 days later had my 19 year old home air conditioning system quit right before 100 degree streak of weather. I replaced everything to the point of vacuuming line set and A-coil. Brother did the final freon charge. Vacuum pump and gauges did their job.
Helped 2 friends with their vehicles determining each had very low freon using the gauges and supplied automotive service port connectors. Found leaking high pressure pipe and a broken condensor connection using the freon leak detector included in the kit. After repairs vacuumed and refilled the systems with freon using gauges and automotive connectors. Not a set to run a business with though well worth the money when the heat is on.

Vincent: Leak detector did not turn on or work. Couldn't reorder due to out of stock. Has good adaptors for many sizes. This was really helpful as I did not have to buy more adaptors. Sadly the leak detector did not work at all and I couldn't buy another one and have to wait till it's back in stock

Tim Meyer: Used it for 3 cars now, you have to watch how far you go with the valves when opening, they do tend to wreck the o rings when you go all the way down.

Amos: The vacuum pump leaks oil. I used it once and put it away a week a go. I pulled it out today and the oil had leaked out of the pump all over everything. Also, the gauges cannot be used on the low and high side at the same time because there is no way to isolate them from each other. They form a loop. I had to order an extra valve to put on the vac pump, otherwise as soon as you turn the pump off, the oil is sucked out of the pump and your vacuum is gone.
