Merrill: Like many people, I have the metal toxicity. These are pure titanium and one of the few pairs that I have ever owned that did not trigger the irritation.

Kindle Customer: They seemed to be titanium for a new ear piecing, and I had no allergic reaction. I used silicon backs instead of the included butterfly backs. These are bigger than I liked, and they look a little cheap, which is the reason for 4 stars.
