Tammy Jo: Used to give pills to dogs. Not the sturdiest I have used. But, will do the job.

Carolyn: This pill shooter is unsafe, and therefore unusable. The tip is hard, rigid plastic, with sharp pointy tips at the end. I wouldn't use this on a young healthy cat, much less an older, chronically ill one. One little cut in the mouth could be detrimental to his health.

The worst part is that I can' even return it for some reason. It has been 3 weeks, so I should have about 1 week left to do so.

Anyway, I would give zero stars, but that is not an option. I suppose I am going to have to find one at a pet shop near me.

CAM: My cat needs to take small pills and figured out they were being hidden in her cat food & treats. I bought this and here's what works for me:
1. If you're giving your pet a small pill, keep the dispenser tipped up so the pill doesn't fall out.
2. For a cat (or small dog) sit crossed-legged with your pet trapped on your lap.
3. Carefully open your pet's mouth, avoiding sharp teeth, and quickly lower the dispenser into your pet's mouth and push the plunger aiming toward the back of the throat. Practice a few times to learn how the plunger works.
4. If you miss the back of the throat, pull the pill out of your cat's fur and repeat step 3 again. If your cat has ran away go back to step 2 and start over.
5. If you did get the pill to the back of the throat (good job, by the way!) then gently hold your cat's mouth shut and pet their throat to make sure they swallow.
6. Pet your cat, scratch their ears, tell them they're a good girl/boy/non-gendered cat, tell them you love them, and you can both be on with your day.

Lisa Cooper: Highly effective for a dog that WILL NOT take a pill no matter what you do. As long as the pills are normal size it is great. Easy to use and administer. Put at back of throat and dispense. Getting a couple more in case 1st one wears out.

Consumer: Very easy to pill a cat with this device! I went with this one because there are no detachable tips that can come off in your pet's mouth like all of the slimmer pill poppers seem to have. This is a simple two-piece design that is safe, nothing can be accidently swallowed. This was also inexpensive, around 2 dollars, while others with the same design were 8-10 dollars, which I think is nuts for a small, plastic syringe. I got the pill down on the 2nd try, the first attempt only failed because I didn't press hard enough to pop it out, but the 2nd time worked with little fuss. I searched the floor for the spit up pill, thinking he successfully coughed it out, but he didn't. I was impressed and relieved it was that easy. He went to drink some water and I gave the little trooper his favorite food. Cats are notoriously picky and noncompliant, this particular little dude is good about being handled, but has a very keen sense of smell and I doubt he would eat any food or treats with hidden medicine.

The medication I was using- Bayer Praziquantel (tapeworm med)- needs to be taken in one dose to be effective. I thought about mixing it with tuna juice and giving it...

Lincoln County MT: OK SHOPPERS shop wise...this item is identical to other sellers selling same item here on Amazon. Take a close look at the identical or close to identical photos of item and oh yeah it is the same. So you can buy at a reasonable price we ordered at 2 dollars or I saw it as high as over 12. I know amazing.
As far as easy to use..that depends on your relationship with your pet and if your pet is cooperative at all. We have a Mainecoon that is not. Over 50 years ago we had a tiny siamese who was not too. In between many cats have walked thorugh our hearts and left with a piece and have been easy as heck to pill. BUT when you have one that challenges every fiber of your wellpower to hang in there and get that blankity blank pill down the kitty. This s the first time we turned to a piller. And it allows hubby to get the pill down. I was doing well with it mixed into his food until we went from one pill a day to every other day as presribed by vets and kitty quickly picked up on the change and would refuse to eat the pilled food. OH yeah he could smell it or combined with he's not a dumb kitty realized it was every other night therefore his food was different every...
