Gabrielle: On ne peut pas l'utiliser en mouvement, mais très utile pour connaitre la profondeur et la présence de poissons lors de la pêche en kayak ou sur la glace.
Pour pas cher, ça fait la job en attendant.

MMCM-im-canada: Well it worked great ..the big and only issue with it is that the neck strap that comes with it is not secure hold ..after about 10 -12 tosses into the water the strap broke and the whole fishfinder went into the water and is no good now but going for a return or replacement ...so who ever purchases this item with caution when tossing into the water ..was pretty disappointed in what happened ...but have high hopes on my replacement or refund so can buy again and last a little longer than a couple hrs ...cheers everyone and be cautious on the strap

Aaron Adkins: Great idea, but very poor execution. Has some limited ability to function as a basic depth finder, but that's absolutely it. No useful applications for fishing beyond that. Where to start...
1. No air or water temperature display. Every decent fisherman knows that these 2 factors are among the most critical in predicting fish behavior.
2. No scrolling bottom contour. Also crucial for finding formations likely to hold fish. It uses an icon in the lower right-hand corner which displays a picture of a rock, weeds, or nothing based on what it perceives the bottom surface to be. However, weeds don't register unless they are very dense.
3. Randomly fails to display depth. 75% of the time it gives you depth when stationary or moving at trolling speed, but then for no particular reason that I could identify it will just stop reading and display "---" where depth should be displayed. Reset feature does not correct this and turning off for 60 seconds and then back on again fixes it about 1/2 the time, but, again, with no particular pattern or reason that I can identify. I would say it may be a problem with deep water or movement of the boat (since one or both of these...

I wanted a portable fish finder for kayaks that’s inexpensive but gets the job done. After reading mostly positive reviews about the Venterior portable fish finder, I decided to buy one.
I’m pleased with it overall so far, although it’s not perfect.
Mission accomplished
The Venterior portable fish finder correctly told me where the fish were during a trip on Lake Townsend in Greensboro, N.C. As a result, I caught a decent-size channel catfish after anchoring at a spot the fish finder was telling me was buzzing with activity. Biggest fish I’ve caught so far this year.
Setup
Setup is a snap. Just install four AAA batteries (not included) and familiarize yourself with the settings, including adjusting the sensitivity, battery saving mode, alarm, backlight and whether you want it to show meters or feet (more on that part later).
It also comes with a strap, which I used so I...

DVB: I purchased the unit for ice fishing to get an idea of the depth. Has worked extremely well and easy to move from hole to hole. Planning on using it this summer with some kayak fishing. Small and compact and works well.
