Angelena Evans Headlee: This is a great little coffee press, the instructions say to let the grounds steep for about 4 minutes, I really like the taste better at about 1 minute (less bitter) never the less, this thing makes great coffee. I have made about 25 pots so far with several types of beans. Have not made a bad cup yet. It is a little messy but all coffee makers are. This is a great item for that special guest/occasion . WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Keeps the brew warm for hours and the filter screens don't let and ground get to your cup. My keurig has been gathering dust since this arrived.

The Alpha Akita: I like it because it looks nice and should be more durable than the smashing glass ones. It also retains heat very well due to its double wall construction. It operates smoothly and unlike some other metallic presses out there, it doesn't scream like a banshee when you press.

The only problem I really have is the plunger assembly is a pain. It doesn't go back together easily like my other Veken press pot. ALL of the pieces come off, including the nib that tightens it all together. Takes some finesse to get it back together correctly. I removed a star from the overall rating because of this and one star from "easy to clean" because that problem makes it harder to clean than it should be.

Otherwise a great press pot at a really good price.

RockUncleBratt: I've only had this a few months . This has proven to be one of the best if not the best French Coffee Press I have used.

Percolating Coffee Maker and French Press are my preferred coffee brewing choices. Making a brew of coffee is an artform. I have used many styles of coffee makers and am finding this press to be a well designed tool.

Pros: the extended spout is long enough to allow for pouring the coffee with zero chance of flow issues.
The double screens has made it impossible for any fine coffee grind to sneak into a pour cup of coffee.
The included long spoon for stirring the grounds is so much easier to use then a butter knife.
The insulation factor keeps the coffe warm for a few hours at least. (I've not tracked how long it will stay warm).
The stainless steal does not influence the flavor of the coffee. It is easy to clean and I am 95% sure it wont crack like I've experienced with glass and heat resistant plastic.
It is so easy to clean.
It has measurement lines to gauge how much ground beans to use and when to stop pouring the boiling water into the press so i don't spray coffee everywhere when pressing down the coffee beans. I have done...

Mamma Bear: As an avid coffee drinker, i was tired of using traditional coffee machines and instant coffee, so i ordered this and received it the same day! So far, I've used it twice and love how it brews my coffee!!! If i fill it up to the max line, i can easily get 3 and a bit cups of coffee out of it, my coffee stays nice and warm (if i remember to close the spout) i have no coffee grinds in my cup, it is so efficient and keeping the grinds down. The frothed that came with it is absolutely wonderful!!!

I will say this, you definately need to warm it up before you make your coffee in it, other wise it will cool down a little faster due to it being stainless steel!!

I just add hot water from the sink to it, put on the lid and close the spout while my water boils, this preheats it to a nice temperature!!

Very easy to clean, i would definitely recommend this!

Hope: This is a great press. I got the shiny steel. I can see the pour indicator on the lid and the measurement indicators inside the unit very well.
If you are an experienced french press user, you will really enjoy this press and it should last forever (good news for all of us who have broken multiple carafes.
To respond to concerns noted in some reviews: It seems obvious that you should preheat the press and your mug if you want the coffee to stay hot. Also, prewash the press before using for the first time. Rinse very well! Otherwise it might taste funny due to the manufacturing process and packaging. You will only need to use one screen at a time. They are almost identical to those in Bodum. Using 2 screens is unnecessary and will make it more difficult to press. Save the extras for replacements (which you should not need to do for several years, so the extras should last you a lifetime.) This press will make 2 large (16-17oz) cups of coffee.
Taste tips: it is a total lie that you should wait 5 minutes to press your coffee. If you want it bitter, do that! If you love a good strong cup of sweet, dark, rich italian coffee, I suggest trying Jim's Organic Sweet Love, ground...
