David G Carter: On a recent safari, I went overboard on mosquito protection, getting a range of stand-alone nets and this built-in net-hat. This one proved to be the most practical, although for my partner's small head, not my own big one. You need a black net so you can see through it (not brown), and I don't know how helpful insecticide treatment is, but you can add that yourself from a spray can. The rains came late so we didn't see many mosquitoes, but this seemed the best solution.

AshleysueAshleysue: I’ve used this hat on many long days in the sun in all shorts of environments! It has stood up to everything I could throw at it. Not to mention over 50 people were impressed by my hat and immediately ordered their own. Biggest take away if you don’t need the bug net then buy a different hat because this hat is more bulky and less breathable. Otherwise I normally dunk my hat in the water multiple times a day to regulate temperature better. It’s kept my face and neck from being burnt all summer. Stayed on during the strongest winds I’ve faced paddling in 20mph winds without a problem. Will definitely be ordering another without the net for bug free trips in the sun. Either way it’s an amazing hat!

Kay.E.L.: This saved me this summer walking the dogs in the woods. With lots of rain we had lots of mosquitoes. This was wonderful. Worked nicely in a downpour I found myself in as well. Highly recommend.

Shirley A. Hall: Keeps flying insects away from my face. I can work in my garden now. Easy to pull mesh down and to put back up. Mesh does not block sight lines at all. Wish I had this a few years ago. I live in the country and it’s a game changer for working in the yard. Love it.

Amazon Customer: I got this for my 82 year old mom for nighttime fishing off the dock of our lake cabin. My mom loves this hat and the netting for pesky mosquitoes. You haven’t experienced real mosquitoes until you visit a lake in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the early evening. You will get bit up without some repellent or physical protection. This hat kept my mom mosquito bite free on the covered parts of her body. I recommend this item.
