This bag will be perfect not only for that purpose, but much much more! 1) a protective phone pouch with a touch screen, 2) a large pouch with two compartments, 3) a removable should bag strap, 4) 3 Velcro straps for securing on my bike handlebars, and 4) so cute! I would definitely use this with the shoulder strap as a crossover purse! Price was super reasonable, too. Seems well designed and durable.

TayaA: The size is right and it fits on my bike well. It didn't pass the gentle shower test, however. I live in the PNW and purchased this because, in addition to it's size and shape, claimed to be waterproof. The zipper allows water to infiltrate the main compartment where it actually pools, and the padding for the phone compartment becomes soaked because it is in contact with the zipper.
The bag will be great for fair weather, but I don't think I would put anything in it that needed to stay dry without an additional liner.

Amazon Customer: this bag is a little bigger than I expected and although it has a 2 sided zipper, one side splits open when moved. works ok from the other side so I kept it.
not sure what kind of protection it gives a phone as the padding is on the inside. fall and the phone hits first.

rosa kang: I purchased it for not a bike but part of utility belt. Great for phone placement (just need to look down to see messages or time) and being able to just be able to access without taking the phone out. Nice compartment for emergency kits and water repelling fabric and smooth double zipper (very important as my last bike bag converted to utility belt failed on that part). Also they come in bright colors which is a plus (works like almost like traffic vest). Haven’t done the submerged test yet in water, but I imagine quick dunk won’t destroy it. Overall good design for my use.

BigManDan: I was looking for a bag that would allow me to carry extra water and possibly an energy bar for longer rides. This bag is perfect for that purpose. It easily holds two standard .5 liter water bottles. I was able to fit my Camelbak cycling water bottle in it (by itself of course) but it was a snug fit and I probably wouldn't ever do that. For me, the optimal installation location was on the handlebars underneath the cables. This requires a bit of slack in the cables I suppose but, in my case, the bag does not interfere with the cables at all. Getting into the bag while it's under the cables is not optimal but It's not something I will need to do often. Having said that, it would be nice to have a zippered opening on the end rather than always having to use the side flap. My Samsung S6 is a very tight fit in the phone window but I don't plan to use it for that. Also, the under-cable installation method I'm using makes it so you can't see the phone. The bag is small enough that it could also be frame mounted though I have not yet tried that. The materials of construction are nice and look like they should hold up well. Installation was easy though I wouldn't want to do it frequently....

KentMomKentMom: This seems to be nearly identical to one I purchased 3 years ago. It’s held up well - the zipper finally gave way on my old one, on the bottom in the photo. It has sat on my bike handlebars through countless rides, holding all of the above essentials at the ready, plus my phone and sometimes a few cards/cash. I rarely use it as a shoulder bag but it’s easy to do and lightweight. Only knock: no, you can’t use your phone through the plastic but you can see it. You’re on a bike ride, anyway, the texts and calls can wait ;) If this lasts 3 years at the price, that’s fair.*
