Peter: This is a well written, easy-to-read breakdown of the habits of the millionaires who live among us. From debunking common misconceptions and stereotypes about the rich to teaching strategies to guide one's life towards true wealth (you aren't what you drive!), the widespread knowledge from this intense and fascinating study is extremely helpful and objective.

If you are looking for ways to make your money go further, grow more financially healthy, or have dreams of one day becoming a millionaire, this book is a great resource.

Laurrie Lloyd: From order to delivery it was excellent! Thank you for my book.

MIKE: I read this within a week and purchased it based on a recommendation

It covers a long span of time with absolute essential statistics asked of millionaires and differences between millionaire mentalities as well as those who think they are millionaires.

Great prospective on different mindsets particularly of the frugal and those who define wealthy in the truest sense.

Rather than spoil it anymore or sway with opinion I will simply say I enjoyed the book and can't wait to lend or give it to someone else to gain knowledge!

Tim: This is a motivational read for those who want to build wealth - a ‘piggy bank’ in excess of your needs. The central message though is a fairly unsurprising one - to build wealth you need to spend less than you earn and invest the difference to grow over the long term. That might elicit the response ‘No kidding Sherlock!’, but the point is that most of us don’t do it even though it’s within reach of most of us to do so. In much the same way to lose weight we just need to consume less calories than we expend - easy eh?!

The point of the book’s title is that many apparently affluent people (nice house, car, clothes, gadgets) may not have much in their piggy bank because they are driving, wearing and displaying it instead. People who do have a lot of wealth built up do so because they are living a very modest life - ‘the person next door’.

The only downsides for me were the repetitive facts and figures drawn from their research which pads out a booklet into a book. Pretty soon you might get fed up of the ‘this percent of that, which as a percentage of this, as a ratio of’ and just start skim reading it as you got the point from the first...

B. Zabavnik: It might sound obvious but this book reinforces how we@lth is retainable within the family assuming everyone has their head screwed on but it is skewed to the North American experience and does not translate to other countries. Let us look at inheritance taxes in Sweden - basically Sweden has removed then totally because they noticed the wealthy simply removed their wealth and young people did not bother to stay in the country, alsomflaky politicians allowed Muslims to enter the country and Muslims always have their handout. The British experience is also revealing. Inheritance taxes were introduced to pay for wars that were conducted on behalf of the city of London traders. Today politicians involved in Brexit are trying the same trick in trading off british fishing rights in order to allow the city of London to trade in the EU. However if you look at the minutiae of detail in inheritance tax regulations you will, find some very peculiar behaviour. For example if some one dies, the family immediately stripe the house of everything so that nothing has to be declared. You need about fifty relatives to,perform this operation efficiently but the result is on day one the soon to be...

unriehl: This book was not at all what I was expecting, but contains some good advice that many would benefit from. For some background, my wife and I are relatively young and have career jobs. I bought this book for information on making the most of any extra income, learning more about investing strategies, options for generating passive income, and improving my personal finances. I did learn a few things, but not on these topics (maybe a bit on the last point). The book primarily focuses on interesting finds and anecdotes from the authors' years of research on millionaires in America.

The book is divided into eight chapters:
1. Meet the Millionaire Next Door
2. Frugal Frugal Frugal
3. Time, Energy, and Money
4. You Aren't What You Drive
5. Economic Outpatient Care
6. Affirmative Action, Family Style
7. Find Your Niche
8. Jobs: Millionaire vs. Heirs

The author essentially splits everyone into two categories: Underaccumulators of Wealth (UAWs) and Prodigious Accumulators of Wealth (PAWs). UAWs have a low net worth relative to income, and the opposite for PAWs and uses these terms throughout the book.

His primary argument is that PAWs get to be...
