Desiree Ippolito: The book starts off very good. There are clear connections to the Bible chapter and there are questions to answer within the chapters. However, I give it three stars for three reasons. 1) it gets repetitive and not thorough in the middle. The last 10 chapter or so don’t have many new ideas. 2) many of the questions assume you are a bad Christian. While I’m not perfect, I am not needing to work on every aspect of my life. The questions are negatively worded and make assumptions that you couldn’t be possibly doing anything right. 3) the book has a toxic view of laziness. There are no discussion of how the word has changed means over generations and how we understand laziness differently with modern science. There is a lot of shaming from this book. If you are a struggling Christian and you are not totally sure about God, this book is not for you. It’s a toxic viewpoint. If you are a strong Christian and looking for something to read to build wisdom but can also screen out unhelpful parts, this book may be for you.

I have read Joyce Meyer books for years and prayed that she would write a book on wisdom because I knew it would be the perfect fit for me. I was so thrilled when a few months later this book came out. God answers prayers. Amen and thank you.

MB.: This book is great to read after reading the book of Proverbs in the Bible. It gives you another way of thinking about what you read in the Good Book. I have read it twice and each time I see something new in Proverbs. Good read.
