Ultra Pet Ultra Cat Litter: Maximum Odor Control for Optimal Feline Hygiene

val: I seems to work well. I like this brand. The problem is that it seems to be dusty. I notice that after using the litter box, my cat sniffles and has a hard time breathing for several minutes, sometimes 20 minutes. This has only been with the clumping litter. I just swapped to the clumping litter 2 bags ago, and my 3rd bag was delivered yesterday. I work in the same area where her litter box resides, so I know she doesn’t ‘play’ in it. In fact she has stopped burying her poop at all. She just does her business and is gone. With winter upon us, I was hoping to cut down on the kitty smell in that room, so I’ve been trying out several of the options from this brand. Does anyone have any ideas?

I did not like the large ball version. I was constantly picking those up and had to put a barrier around the box with a small opening, so my daughter’s dog wouldn’t try to eat the little balls. I think it was just that she could see them and thought it was food. She never ate any, but I had to keep a close eye on her. I never said the dog was smart. But she is cute!

Amazon Customer: It’s a bit dustier than I’d like, but the cats like it better (meaning they used it right away and didn’t go to a different litter box) than another crystal type we tried. Good odor control and lasts a long time if you scoop the poo out timely.

Erica M: First off, I’ve been using this litter for a while and it’s the only kind we can use at this point. Both of my cats have bladder or stomach issues and the large crystals present in other brands would get stuck to them while using the litter box, creating some serious safety concerns. This type from ultrapets has smaller crystals and I haven’t had to clean litter obstructions on my cats, so very happy with that aspect.

Though this litter is clumping, I have noticed that occasionally cat urine will cause litter in the bottom of the box to become more of a mushy/slushy consistency that will end up sticking to the box. In addition to daily scooping I have also found that agitating the litter helps the sticking. The main issue with the way it mushes and sticks is that I have to do deep cleans of the boxes with urine removal cleaner twice a month. Some batches are worse than others so the consistency is not always there.

Some say a bag lasts a month but in my experience with 2 cats and 2 litter boxes is that we go through 3 bags a month. I like the crystal litter because in addition to trapping more odors than clay or pine, the litter itself also does not have a...

Ali: I used to use regular litter. Then I tried clumping with lovely scents. Then I had my eyes opened to the silica based litters. And I am so happy I found this product. It's been the best litter product I've ever used. Hands down, no lies. And I'm not being paid to say it. I've had cats all my life. And finding litter and a correct litter box has been a lifelong struggle. Until discovering this product, the ModKat litter box, and the Litter Genie Easy Roll Pail.

No one likes to clean, or smell a litter box. So finding these products is like heaven. Crystals really absorb the urine and its smell. It dries quickly. Poo dries up also quickly. So this keeps the smell down as well. It has a low dust factor. Let's be honest it's low tracking, but no kind of litter will ever manage to stay inside of the litter pan. It's impossible. I just use a mat to trap most of what makes it out. It doesn't last a month with 2 cats its usually about 3 weeks if cleaned 1-2x daily or more. But for the price point, and based on same kind of litters (Pretty Litter (skip this product it is junk too)) it's worth every penny.
