Billal N. Ahmed: I was skeptical at first but now a believer after using this filter on two bottles of red wine. Did not get the usual headache and the wine also tasted smoother and cleaner. Definitely recommend.

Amazon Customer: A few years back I had to give up red wine because I would wake up with a massive headache from drinking one glass. I went to a dinner party and they were decanting a bottle of wine using this product and asked me to try it. I’m so happy I was brave enough because I forgot how delicious a good red can be. And to my surprise…no hangover the next day. I immediately purchased this and put it in a ziplock bag in my purse. I’ve used it multiple times out and boy does it work well. Highly recommend!! But…lock up the filters because there must be some sort of scent to them because my puppy tore into the whole bag. I wanted to cry! Lol

Wine tastes better too

Frankie: This is a cheap plastic but hey it works. So no more worrying about the health concerning sulphites and headache the next morning. Refills cost should be considered also.

Monica - Calgary, AB: I'm not sure if I notice any difference in my wine experience with using this product. It's expensive to use (new filter with every use) and I don't feel better or different after having g a glass or two of wine using the filter versus not using it.

Jadams: I flush beet red and turn into a hot chili pepper when I drink red wine. I get huge red splotches all over my chest, neck and face. Skin tightness, gnarly headache, the whole lot. But I love wine so much that I drink it anyway. I just do it in private, and not on a work night. So, if there is something that can make it less painful and less embarrassing to do around other people, that would be value! I bought the Üllo over the wand and the drops after reading the reviews of all 3. Stinky, cloudy wine sounded bad bad bad.
In the name of science, and for the benefit of my fellow winos, I sacrificed myself to the hangover gods and uncorked a good bordeaux style blend on a Sunday night. I filtered the whole bottle into a decanter with the Üllo. I was afraid to take the first sip but was pleasantly surprised! There was no change in smell or taste except reduced acidity, which some people would probably appreciate. It made this particular wine a little ho-hum but it was still completely drinkable. (I'm about halfway through a case of this wine and I know what it's supposed to taste like, so I would pick up on a change in the wine's flavor.)

Pascal M.: If I was to see this device on the shelf I wouldn't want to pay more than £10-15 for it strictly to its build quality. The device has a rubber top, plastic tray, and plastic aerated bottom. The problem isn't with the material just the look and feel of the product, it doesn't feel premium so why is it so expensive? The aerate function works well, and enhances the flavour of any red wine. This could also be achieved with a much cheaper aerator.
The filters do their trick, after 5 bottles of red with a group of friends I woke up without a hangover. This is probably the area that will warrant you to spend the money. Filters cost around £3 each and only 1 filter can be used per bottle.
Unfortunately my Ullo after 2.5 months has now developed a leak. The leak sometimes goes away after spinning the Ullo a few times but always has an unwelcome tendency of returning. You definitely want to avoid all leaks and spillages with red wine.
All in all, a good product. I would say the filters are worth their price but the Ullo device not so much.

Runner262: So I have been a big fan of wines and enjoy the socially and special occasions. My favorite are reds (Cabs, Blends,). I researched on something that could make the experience of drinking wine that was young or sweeter without the consequences of the headache and sensitivity to sulfates. Enter ULLO, which I purchased 3 weeks ago. Here is my own subjective review of this interesting wine accessory:
IMO It Does In Fact filter sulfates and the dozen or so bottles we used our ULLO on sweet to semi-dry wines that we served at social events and smaller gatherings did not give guests or us traditionally headaches or even individual reactions to those sensitive to wine. Net is they enjoyed drinking the wine and were pleasantly surprised by the ULLO process and how it transformed the wine.
Transform the wine? How So?: By reducing or eliminating the sulfates a majority of people have sensitivity to AND also improving for the majority of the wines the taste.
Wines BEST SUITED for ULLO: Sweet, Semi-Sweet, White and Very Young Reds. All improved with filtering via ULLO
Wines NOT SUITED for ULLO: Any Mature Reds, Vintage Port, and any sparking effervescent wines. ULLO...

BetheBall: It absolutely works. Simply amazing! I wish restaurants would offer this as I feel like now I can only drink wine at home… or in Europe where I never get wine headaches.
