Ross: Did exactly what I need to convert an old projector to HDMI. Luckily the projector had USB to power the adaptor as I didn’t realise it comes with a seperate cable for power.

Andy M: I was looking to spend $200 on a new projector knowing that most in this price range only put out 900 ANSI Lumen. I wanted to leverage the higher contrast DLP technology with the brighter 1500 lumen on my old Viewsonic Projector but it only had the old VGA and S-Video connectors. I wanted to use my new 4K Firestick as a source and was unsure if this converter would work.
Once I connected the 5v power source and a 3.5mm patch cord to my speakers it took right off. "Upgrading" cost me $10 instead of $200! I recommend this converter!

Young Leahy: It did not work at first and after several attempts. I kept reading and trying tips from previous customers online and finally found the way for it to work with my tv. Thanks to "Amazon Customer" from UK for posting your solution ... "I first connected the adapter. After a bit of investigating online I found the screen resolution setting needed for the TV was different to the setting for my newer living room TV. I put the Fire Stick back into my living room TV and on the Fire Stick went to 'Settings', 'Display & Sounds', 'Video Resolution' and changed it from 'Auto' to '720p 60Hz' I then connected the Fire Stick to the adapter put it back in the old Philips TV and it worked perfectly this time. I connected my portable JAM speaker to the adapter and the sound was good and in sync. Woohoo :-) I can now watch Amazon Prime, Netflix and BBC iPlayer etc in the bedroom now without having to buy a new TV.

Wyatt: The HDMI ports on my dumb (not Smart) TV stopped working. We don’t have cable and just used our Fire stick for streaming. Unfortunately you gotta have the HDMI ports to use the Fire stick. The TV repair man said it was probably the motherboard and it wouldn’t be worth fixing it. Before I took the TV to the dump I had the idea of finding an adapter to see if I could get the Fire stick working through the VGA port. I came across this product and got excited. It not only converts the video, but also sends the audio from the HDMI connection so you can use a 3.5mm headphone cable to get the audio through your TV internal speakers or stereo receiver. The package came fairly quick, and when I opened up I was very impressed with the packaging. I had everything plugged up within seconds and I seriously cannot be happier. Saved me hundreds of dollars now that I don’t have to buy a new TV. Thank you Ugreen!
