TORCHSTAR 110-277V LED Garage & Barn Light

Rod: I have a very dark alleyway behind my garage. I’ve had an older dusk to dawn light I installed about 18 years ago. I couldn’t find a replacement oversized fluorescent bulb at my local hardware store so I found this one on Amazon. This light mounted perfectly where my old light was and it’s much brighter than my old one, I just hope the neighbors don’t complain about the light in their back yards. If you want a great affordable dusk to dawn light, you’ll love this one.

Lisa M.: I purchased this light to replace one on our barn that stopped working. It is smaller in size than the Honeywell one we had up there, but the holes all lined up perfectly. It is very bright and lights up the front of our barn quite a bit. I would highly recommend purchasing this light if you want a dawn-to-dusk light.

Okie2012: I have five of these lights installed in my yard. I have been using them for several years. I was woken up by the police department at 4:30 this morning because a neighbor had called in a complaint because one of the lights was flashing. This is the second light out of the five that I have now had problems with, as another light went out a few weeks ago. I have been pleased with these lights overall, but their longevity is questionable. I will be looking for a different light to replace the two bad lights with.

Marco Polo: Bought this Torchstar lamp November 8, 2022. Installed it a couple weeks later. Worked as expected. On at dusk, off at dawn. Good illumination. But by July 2023 it started malfunctioning. At dusk the lamp turns on but is so dim you can stand below the lamp and look directly up at it and see each individual LED in the cluster is barely glowing. The lamp seems to cycle through two states of dim glow but does not illuminate brightly until some seemingly random time during the course of the night. I have awakened at various times in the early morning to see the lamp at its normal brightness. It seems that once it fully illuminates it stays lit until dawn when it shuts off normally. But a security lamp that is supposed to illuminate an area from dusk to dawn is useless if it will not reliably turn on.
LED lamps in general are supposed to have much longer life spans than traditional incandescent lamps. This product in particular boasts a five year warranty. These claims are the main reason I chose this product. I did not expect to have to perform any maintenance on it for at least five years. Unfortunately it did not live up to this expectation. Amazon Customer: The light is bright and does exactly what is stated. Setup was easy. The photo light sensor is good, won't turn on until just before dark. Mine has been up since mid December. It always turns on in the extreme cold and does exactly what is intended.

Dave: Impressed! Replaced a 150 watt metal halide light with this 35 watt LED for our yard light. When it arrived I was surprised to see that it was quite a bit smaller than the light I was planning to replace. After installing, I am impressed that it is as bright as the light I replaced and is less than a ¼ the wattage.

gardenho: This was purchased to replace an existing 150W metal halide fixture on a 36x24 shop, it is mounted close to the top near 14 ft height above ground. I was a little concerned it wouldn't throw enough light to replace the previous metal halide fixture when it arrived since the light fixture itself is about half the diameter but it is just as bright for sure, although it doesn't throw the light the distance of the old one it has a narrower path. Can't wait to get the next power bill and see the difference in power usage! Installed easily and performs reliably with no issues with the photocell so don't hesitate if you are considering purchase.

Pugwug: I live out in the country; excellent lighting. Covers at least 60-80 feet out from where I have it installed on a Quonset bldg approximately 17 feet above ground level. . The light actually illuminates beyond the 60-80 feet, enough to still see what is out there & is going on.👍

Amazon Customer: Overall quality appears to be very good including the hardware. The weight of the light was much lighter than expected. We mounted it 12ft high at the front of our garage, it lights up much more than the 24ft width of the garage. We use it with Enerlites HET01-C Programmable Timer Switch. We have the programmable switch turn it on at 5:00am then the photocell on the light shuts it off at daylight and back on at nighttime, then the programmable switch shuts it off at 9:00pm so it is not on all night.
