Laurie: I broke my foot and had to wear a walking boot that went up to my knee. These socks were perfect because they allowed my foot to breathe while wearing the boot, and they went all the way up to my knee so that the inside of the boot did not rub. I did have to wear them inside out because the nap of the wrong side of the fabric was too rough, but that didn't affect it's purpose for me. Holds up well to several washings.
