MamaofThree: If you have a 6-year-old who loves to read and is interested in learning about history, I highly recommend the book "Who Was Theodore Roosevelt?" This book is part of the popular "Who Was" series, which introduces young readers to important historical figures in an engaging and accessible way.

The book is well-written and informative, providing a thorough overview of Theodore Roosevelt's life and accomplishments. It covers everything from his childhood to his political career to his conservation efforts, all while keeping the language and concepts accessible for young readers.

One thing I appreciated about this book is that it doesn't shy away from some of the more complex aspects of Roosevelt's life and legacy, such as his views on imperialism. However, it presents these ideas in a way that's age-appropriate and easy for young readers to understand.

Overall, "Who Was Theodore Roosevelt?" is an excellent book for young readers who are interested in history and biography. It's well-written, informative, and engaging, making it a great choice for kids who love to read and want to learn more about important historical figures.

Rhonda Benson: Great little book. My gran daughter has a huge interest in Teddy boy so thought this book would be a good one for her age to understand. Came in a timely manner.

Robert Irby: My nephew (10 years old) had a class drawing of presidents of who they individually had to learn about, write a report and give an oral speech about what they learned. My nephew got the late President Teddy Roosevelt (not Abraham Lincoln or George Washington). I am so glad that at this age he enjoys learning. This book is an easy read as well as helped him prepare for this class project.

Christine Knorr: I love these biographies for my fifth grade classes. They are written in a way that is entertaining, which can be tough with the biography genre. This book begins by explaining the incident where Roosevelt was shot while giving a speech, but kept right on talking. My fifth graders were interested right away since the beginning was so catchy! All I had to do was read them the beginning, and then many students wanted to borrow it. Since then I've had more and more students want to borrow different "Who Was" books I have in my classroom library. The illustrations give it just enough interest to keep them reading. I also liked how there were different features like timelines, etc. that help me to teach them text features. This is a great book for a fifth grader, or any student in an upper elementary or middle school grade.
