Random Sovereign: I'm very pleased that I purchased this book by Thomas Sowell for my high school senior. I am also reading it. I am a huge fan of Mr Sowell's intellect. This book is a great addition to my home library. Full of insightful common sense and practical advice for every adult in today's overly "sensitive" world.

TX Rancher: The book is good and thank heavens it was a hardback or it would have been ruined. The package was jammed into my mailbox (pkg too big for it), instead of being put on my porch like others have been. I almost couldn't get it out of the mailbox because of the jamming - it took quite a few pulls and maneuvering to do it. Obviously, I'm not happy with the delivery.

Maziar: For anyone wanting to know more about the important work of Thomas Sowell, this Reader is an essential starting point. It is divided into 8 diverse chapters (economics, politics, law, education, etc), with each chapter tackling a large number of issues and arguments in a brief and accessible manner. Most individual entries are 2-3 pages long, so can be read in 5 minutes whenever you have a few spare moments. Yet there is sufficient detail in each entry to impress upon you the original arguments and contributions made by Dr Sowell. Once you get through enough of the Reader, you’ll be well placed move on to one of his more specialist books like Discrimination and Disparities.
