Jay Mac: My 6 year old son has had us read this book at bedtime every night since receiving this book for Christmas.
It’s probably one of the best books yet in this Pop Classics series.
It really gets to the heart of the story, covering all the important elements of the movie, but still concise and easy to read. Very age appropriate

K. S. Roberts: I was delighted to find this while looking for book for our nephew's 7th birthday. He loves karate.
This is a beautifully illustrated book. The pictures are sumptuous so hell love telling his Aunty Kez all About everything.
Absolute bargain and so pleased we have it for him. The text is simple but nicely out together.
Great book

JAMES BLACKWELL: This is the third book of this series I have bought for my children. Back to the future, E.T and now the karate kid. These are amazing!! My kids love the stories and i enjoy reading the books to them. The whole film condensed into an easy readable book. Beautifully illustrated and easy to read. A must for any 80s fan.

krossover: This is the 2nd pop classic book I’ve purchased and I have 2 more on the way. They’re great. Illustrations are amazing. My 4yr old loves them and I love how it’s introducing her to movie classics like Karate Kid and Back to the future.
I only wish they had more titles.

lh: My first grader is able to read this. I like how they made the sentences short and easy to read, yet maintained the spirit of the movie. The illustrations are perfect. I have the whole series of these books now for my child who gets to be exposed to the great movies of the '80's without the adult parts of the movies. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could.

tatterbell: The illustrations are beautiful, but I was a bit disappointed. It’s a fun children’s book, but so much was left out and I don’t mean just the storyline. They could’ve picked one thing about the movie and really developed it - how balance is key to all things in life, the father/son relationship between Daniel and Mr. Miyagi, how/why the karate tournament was a better decision than running away from the bullies, (more emphasis on) how karate is for defense, even how good a good kid can be corrupted by an adult in a role of authority. Instead it’s more of a plot summary made into a book. Still, it was nostalgic for me and of course I had to watch the movie again.

Phil: I am a huge Karate Kid fan (it even got me training in Karate 10 years strong).
This short childrens book version of the first movie captures the essense of the story even though it leaves out the plots involving Ali and Miyagi's backstory. The music from the film played as I read it.
I would definetly purchase adaptations of the sequels and I'd really love to see the new "Cobra Kai" web series reworked as a children's book. That'd be hilarious.
Thanks for the nostalgia.

Amazon Customer: My kids started taking karate and I wanted to buy a kids book on karate. There weren’t many good options, so I went with this one. It was a great choice. As soon as we got it, we read it and rented the movie. While they were watching the movie, they were comparing it to the book. The illustrations are amazing! They loved it! Definitely buy it!!
