Amazon Customer: I’ve read and reread this book many many times. Every time I open it’s pages, I learn something new about the love and power of our Almighty God no matter the circumstances. Corrie’s life was such a testimony of obedience to her Saviour. Everyone should read this before ok at least once. You won’t regret it.

Art Vandelay: My only regret is that I didn't read it SOONER. This book is a timeless and powerful classic. The Ten Booms will feel like family to you by the time you are done. Corrie's story unfolds with suspense, compassion, and intrigue all while demonstrating POWERFULLY that the God of the Universe is GOOD and FAITHFUL and SOVEREIGN. You will witness Faith in Action, Joy in the Worst of all places, and a reassurance that God is at work even in the darkness. I found myself writing out quotes from this book that I wanted to remember. I have treasured so many parts of it because they have literally changed who I am. I give this book away to as many people as I can. If you haven't ever read it... It's TIME. If you read it a while ago, it's time to read it AGAIN.

Bubbles: While Paul describes living with the thorn in his side, Corrie and Betsie lived each day with constant reminders of how much they needed His help. And that each day they had His help - with abundance!

The faith of a mustard seed, and moving mountains where regular occurrences in their daily struggles to survive what the worst of humanity showed itself during WWII Germany.

My heart and mind wishes we would be strong enough to live together with the Ten Boom family, but know we would fall way short. I pray the Lord would help their story, their success would become part of my life with His help.

Everyone could use this story to strengthen their walk with the Lord, every day!

JustinHoca: The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom (Book Review #11 of 2023)

This book is an amazing picture of the Cross, as the author draws upon the Cross as she and her family experience the shadow of death in Nazi imprisonment. The reader has to push through the cold, terrifying horrors of Buchenwald (the concentration camp) to get through to appreciate the miracle of the resurrection. In reading this book, the Christian sees that Nazi Germany and its hellish tortures were just as absurd as the Cross, and can only be understood in light of the Cross. This heart-wrenching testimony gave me a greater appreciation-- and a modern visual picture -- of the experience of the early church. Writing this review and pondering the ten Boom family, I'm reminded of Hebrews 11; truly "the world was not worthy of them" and they were waiting for "what had been promised."

Five stars. I put off reading this book for years, I encourage you to read it today.

John b: I really love history in general and often find myself drawn to documentaries and biographies. Especially regarding WWI and WWII. I honestly feel this book has changed my life.

I would like to add I had read Anne Frank's diary, which leaves you sad. I also didn't feel comfortable reading her diary when it came to her teenage romance. It was uncomfortable for me and made me wonder if she would have been okay with such personal information shared with millions of strangers. On a personal note, I have many journals and when I reread them sometimes I am happy and other times I rip pages out because it is so far removed from who I am today that I wouldn't want anyone reading them, including myself.

I have also been listening to The Watchmaker's Daughter on Audible, which gives historical context this book does not as well as shares other people's diaries, including Anne Frank. The Hiding Place is not like that at all.

This book is written from Corrie's point of view and is remarkable. Will leave you feeling encouraged and changed for the better. Like, no matter what circumstance you find yourself in, no matter how dark, how impossible, how complex or evil God is...

Sempre.
