B. Jacobs: I got this to supplement my winter kit since it's a lot simpler to wear a balaclava instead of a hat and neck gaiter. Although it's thin, it has fleece where it counts providing good ear and neck/face protection, and it's lighter/breathable on top of the head. I use this to bike commute to where I can reach speeds of 20-25 mph so wind protection is a must. It's good by itself through the 30s F, below which I supplement with a smartwool beanie. Good quality and all in all is a nice addition to the winter kit. I'll probably use this in deep winter as well when I hike and snowshoe.

Arvind Kumar Sinha: What I liked about these caps was, it not only covers the head, but covers the neck also. This eliminates the requirement of a shawl around my neck, which is really good. During winter days, it is like a boon, as cold wind does not enter my face or head, but keeps me warm.

However, if I have to use it only as a head-cap, it looks quite odd. But then it is not meant to be used as head cap. For winter days, it is a must.

James L. Skidmore: I love this. I was complaining one cold day about how it hurt to breath in the cold air and one of the guys I was riding with recommended I get a balaclava. I had no idea what brand to buy so I just started looking through reviews for something that wouldn't impede me from breathing during a heavy workout. I couldn't be happier that I found these. You get 2 for a very reasonable price. They are soft, keep my head warm and work perfectly for my long rides during the cold weather. Highly recommended.

As anyone who has been will know, it is a gorgeous county, but does get more than its share of wet, cold and windy weather! In the autumn and winter months the wind can be particularly cold and biting ... Even with your hood up and a scarf, your whole head and face can get blasted by the elements and feel like you are getting frostbite! If you wrap your scarf around your face it can still keep slipping down, or just get cold and damp from the moisture of your breath.

These are a great solution. They are not the cheapest on the market, but this is definitely one of those instances where you get what you pay for.

Ed: From December 2018 to February 2019, I worked for an ice and snow removal company in the Chicago area. On most days, our crew would start work at sometime around midnight and finish up around six in the morning. Needless to say, I experienced some of the harshest weather America has to offer, including the "polar vortex" which caused temperatures to plummet to fifty-two below zero on one occasion. So it's fair to say that I put this Balaclava to the test. And I can report that it passed with flying colors. The Balaclava was very effective at keeping my face warm and dry in even the most extreme conditions. It was also quite comfortable, too, which allowed me to keep it on for hours at a time without a problem. The only downsides I noticed were some moderate moisture buildup around the mouth area and a mild pressure near the temples. However, such issues are basically unavoidable in a Balaclava, and neither of these issues became serious problems for me, so I can't hold it against the product. We tried the SPORTS Balaclava and my kids have both used it for skiing in very cold conditions, and for sledding and other outdoor winter activities. When skiing in extremely cold conditions my daughter used this balaclava under a helmet and with a neck warmer. This particular balaclava doesn't provide a lot of warmth on it's own, but definitely scores points for being compact and covering skin that would otherwise be exposed and keeping heat in that would otherwise dissipate. The Sports Balaclava is perfect for having that extra layer when doing anything outdoors.

The NORDIC Balaclava is a bit warmer, with a nice fleece underlayer that is not bulky AT ALL. Very soft to the skin and perfect for colder conditions. I think this will be the go to Balaclava for very cold weather, as it not only protects skin from the elements, but with the fleece will add warmth as well. BPC Kids: I have been looking from something like this for awhile. Things were either priced a bit more than I was willing to spend on something that might not work. But with this I got two of them but what really sold me was the video review someone had made on these. Since I work outside all day I figured it would be best to get the Nordic version as it's their warmer model. I LOVE IT! The full face mask is comfortable and doesn't smash my nose like other face masks I've had in the past did. Also, it very easily pulls down over/under my chin for when I'm inside. Another thing others said about ones that UA or Nike had was that the neck wasn't near long enough and I find that this one is as it allows my jacket to go over it and keep the chill from going down my neck/back. The thing that I found to be a bit tricky was getting it folded right to work as a hat. I'm that kind that when I wear a beanie I want it to cover my ears because if my ears get cold my head gets cold. But I also want a beanie to look good and not just be a rats nest. So after playing with it a couple of times I've figured out how to fold it over and cover my ears and look decent. I'm completely happy with this product...
