TETON Sports Regular Sleeping Bag - Perfect for Family Camping Adventures

josebandito: I bought this based on the high rated reviews. I camped last night and it got down to 30 degrees...I froze. Yes, I had a ground insulation pad and I wore a beanie/watch cap to insulate the top of my head. I tried with only my skivvies and with sweats, and either way, I froze. My son slept in a 40 degree bag and was toasty all night. Also, I'm only 5'7" and it was almost too short for me. Finally, the material sticks to your clothing and makes it very hard to change positions in the bag. We used it earlier in the year and temps got down to 45ish and it was perfect. Teton mislabeled this bag as a 0 degree bag.

Russell Breznich: First off, yes the flannel is not cotton; but it does feel comfortable. The bag has all the benefits of a regular sleeping bag, but added features of a mummy bag. There is an internal drawstring to tighten the bag around your shoulders to keep warm air in; this has been a main source of heat loss in my traditional bags and I have found myself folding them over and under my body to trap the heat (which isn't very comfortable). It packs up relatively small and light, as oppose to my other 0-degree traditional bags. As with all sleeping bags, you'll want to get a foam or air mat to put under the bag for insulation, otherwise you are bound to lose a lot of heat to the ground.

Sue K.: My primary issue with this sleeping bag, and another bought for my daughter, is that there is no information about how to clean it in the description. Or if there is, it's REALLY hard to find. I got it because my son needed a new bag, one that would work for colder weather as well as mild weather. We received it the night before a school overnight, so I wasn't going to unbag it just to rebag it. When he got home and it was wet, I looked at the tag to figure out how to clean it, etc. Can't wash it, can't dry clean it - they suggest hand washing it and air drying. WHO hand washes anything that big? It does say on the tag that if you wash it, the warrantee is voided. I'm going to keep it, because it was a good deal and seems warm. But I will never hand wash it and I guess will have to take my chances by putting it in the machine.

Kevin: I bought two of these (left and right zipper) based on good reviews. Unfortunately we didn't use them until after the Amazon return period, so we are stuck with them. Upon first use, the cheap zipper broke on one of them. I also agree with several other reviews that the "flannel" inside is not real flannel. It doesn't breathe and makes you sweat. Not happy!

UPDATE: At least Teton Sports stands behind their product. They sent me a complete replacement bag for the one with the broken zipper, and didn't even make me return the defective one. Good customer service.

Andrew: Seriously, unpack it and unzip it several times beforehand. The cheap zipper on the sleeping bag I received was terrible. It kept getting caught when I would zip it up and it also completely unzipped along the whole side. I do not want to hassle with that when I'm outside in the middle of the night. I also did not like the material on the inside of the bag. It is very synthetic and not breathable at all, I could see myself sweating profusely if I were to sleep in it. I'm returning this.
