Lee Summers: I purchased book for a gift for the "person who has everything, and can buy whatever they want". I got a phone call, a picture text and a voicemail full of laughter and happiness when they opened this gift from me, and said it was the best gift ever and would be the star of every party they host from now on! It's funny, pretty and full of great anecdotes and of course, cocktail recipes!

Camiel: Pretty book, but nothing special

MDGMDG: This was a cute book and used for a white elephant gift. Drink names and illustrations were hilarious. The cover was gorgeous and looked very high end. I can't speak for the drinks themselves, but the recipes looked good. I would have given it five stars except for the quality of the book binding. The pages were not cut correctly (they did not sit flush with each other) and this made it hard to flip through.

Grace Fisher: This may be my favorite purchase on Amazon. If you already know how to make drinks, it’s an absolute breeze to follow the brief recipes (they are brief but I got this book for all the literary puns). If you don’t know how to mix very well, that’s okay! It’s all trial and error anyways (google is a great friend).
Not every cocktail will have a picture, and in fact, the pictures are beautiful illustrations that don’t show you what the drink will look like. The illustrations are funny and beautifully drawn.
Note that the book is small, maybe a little smaller than you may think. That being said, I prefer the size because it’s a dainty addition to your bar cart or counter.
The only issue I’ve found is that the pages are rather stiff and one of the corners was slightly dented.
All I know is that this book is a little over 7 dollars and is a perfect gift for yourself or other English nerds

Bunny LavaBunny Lava: As a huge fan of birds, puns, and the novel referenced in the title, I fell in love with this book the second I laid eyes on it, but I bought it for my father-in-law instead because I don't often drink Tequila. That said, many of these creative recipes sound downright delicious, even to me. Some are a bit fancier than others and would require some planning ahead, but plenty can be whipped up quickly from common ingredients.
I've especially enjoyed perusing the clever drink names. Each one is a pun on a classic work of literature, and many have made me laugh out loud. Drankenstein was a particular favorite. The whole book is delightfully humorous, and the layout is thoughtfully done as well. It's really a joy to look through. There are pictures and other sorts of content mixed in to keep things fresh throughout, including some drinking game suggestions. To top it off, the book has a nice hardback cover and sturdy pages. I'm super pleased with the quality, especially for the price. It's going to make a fantastic gift.

Daniel Goodland: Making the drinks that fit the theme is just a fun thing to do! I believe everyone who likes a good drink and a good book should get this.

D. Elliott: My wife recently browsed through a copy of ‘Tequila Mockingbird – Cocktails with a Literary Twist’ and she thought it would make an ideal gift to a couple met on holiday over Margaritas. So she purchased a copy from Amazon – but to me it was a disappointment. The edition received is described as ‘Rough Cut’, and so it is with irregular soft-edged pages that are more yellow than white – not crisply attractively presented as the browsing copy.
Also on reading we came to realise how ‘adult’ is the nature of both narrative and illustrations, and wondered whether ‘Tequila Mockingbird’ was really suitable for chance-met friends. It may be a bit risqué – yet on the other hand it is quite humorous and should appeal to a son-in-law who enjoys weird drinks – so we bought a second copy of something I wasn’t that keen on.
‘Tequila Mockingbird’ is a fitting and meaningful title for a ‘tongue in cheek’ literary approach, though I find much of the writing to be immature. OK the actual recipes may be sound and welcome for party drinks that are a bit different, and my wife may award 5-stars. I suppose the literary connections are clever, and there...

The Book Bar: Provided by: The Book Bar.co
Take note book clubs, fans of classic literature, people who like getting wasted on a Wednesday. Tim Federle has managed to mingle the two most important elements in my life (well, right up there with life, love, family & friends); drinks & a good read.
I grabbed the book and really had no idea what to expect. Was it a book about books? Was it a book about drinks? Didn't matter. It had an excellent title and awesome cover art.
So grab a glass, already. Let's get a little stupid and look a little smart. Even if you don't have a BA in English, tonight you're gonna drink like you do.

So as I was standing in a 2 hour long line to get my kids into the latest mini build at our local Lego store when I started this magnificent journey through memories of reads from the past (required reads) and drinks yet to be enjoyed. I laughed out loud, much to the chagrin of my fellow line loiterers, and I think I dog-eared (technically speaking, that little blue life-saver on Kindle) pretty much...
