This is sort of "lacking in real quality" but what do you expect for $25? So, the fact that it works, though you do it with no real idea of any sort of accuracy of any kind, and it does the basic function, that of telling you "Hey, you have a lot of leakage power here!" --- it does that well.
Example: I took it down to my newer GE over-the-stove micro wave oven. From the very front, it was not too bad, but from the sides, and top/bottom, it went ballistic and set off the lights and buzzer. TI'm afraid that this is sort of typical from all of society and electronics manufacturers. (A lot of money rides on this stuff!) On my older later 1980's vintage Ammana Radar Range? Almost zero leakage and detectable output. Our standards are so lax these later years that almost anything goes and THAT is probably not good for our bodies. No radiation in general is good for you when it is large enough that it causes currents to flow through you on a cellular level inside you body...... it is a cumulative thing - and some folks are MUCH more suseptable to it than others so the people who set the standard are hard put to set a point of safety: safe for me may be...

Highly recommended EMF Meter. Simple to use and works great at recognizing problem spots. Microwaves give off EMF's even when off, it's a good thing to stay 5 feet away from them. I was able to fix an EMF source around my computer. The EMF's were coming from the wires near my feet. So I plugged a power adapter further away on another plug and that fixed that problem. I would have never known about that EMF problem.
I like the way this unit beeps and flashes a light when the EMF is too high. The power button looks very sturdy, the unit is light weight but this is a good thing. If you need an EMF meter that is easy to use and low priced, I say buy this one.

I bought this device to detect the radiation at my home, but despite it being named "cell sensor", I was unable to detect the cell phone signal from my iPhone 3G. I followed the direction, did the 90 degrees and 8 inch apart as described in the manual, put the probe next to the sensor, put it on the sensitive setting, and... detected nothing. Then during a call, I tried moving the cell phone in all angle combinations... nothing. I thought I had a defective unit, so I requested a replacement, got another brand new unit, and did the exact same thing. Nothing... the needle stays around 0. Same goes with wireless mouse and baby monitors. How do you make a "cell sensor" that doesn't sense a cell phone is beyond me.
On the other hand, this device works well detecting EMF from appliances such as refrigerator, microwave, lights, etc. Not sure it has really helped me avoid EMF energy other than confirm there's EMF emitting from electronic devices, and to stay 6 feet away from the microwave, but otherwise the level is so low typically that there's really not much that needed to be addressed.
If you plan to get this to detect EMF, it seems to work well,...

Great little EMF meter for the price of [...]. I decided to purchase this EMF meter after inquiring about a many more digital EMF meters and when I got this one I was pleasantly surprised it works well. It has sensitive setting of 1-5 mlGauss and then a normal setting of 10-50 mlGauss for typically higher level EMFs. The sensor is on a dongle connected to the meter and I've put a 3M velcro sticker to attach it to body pointing forward and able to remove it if needed.
I purchased this through Spectral Technologies on Amazon.com . It was incredibly fast shipping and the item arrived as described with tracking and no one can beat their price even with shipping costs. I put a 4 out 5 for them but they really deserve a 5 out of 5 so I removed my rating of them.

Miya: This is a pretty cool tool to have around your home. It does work and surprisingly very well. I used this around my sons room to find out if there was any strong emf signals around his bed. Sure enough I found his digital alarm clock, a very “popular” digital watch and even the chargers for the “popular” digital watch and the computer which is of the same brand as the watch there chargers as well there emf was off the charts. So I removed those items away from his sleeping area and threw the digital alarm clock out, I got him an old school wind up alarm clock and put his phone charger away from his head at night. He’s definitely sleeping better, but I’m sure there are much more investigating I need to do to remove more of the unwanted emf pollutions out of this house. But this is a good tool to start with.
