Matt HeatleyMatt Heatley: Don't use the size chart link in the description. Size 10 says 30 inch waist. Item was a 32 inch waist (label inside said 32). It was WAY too big for me. Material was soft and seemed decent quality. As others have said though, the straps felt really cheap and I imagine the straps and buckles would not hold up well.

itsits: Nice basic skirt but runs real small. I normally wear either a 0 or 2, ordered a 2 which was way to small, went up to a 6 and still didn't fit. Sent back after ordering a 12 and WOW way to big. I hope the next one fits right, its a size 10

Update: I received the size 10 this morning and it was perfect. Looks good! Now that I had a chance on actually trying it on and fitting I changed the feedback to a 5 star

For reference I am a 5' 11" 152 pound man and fits perfect, hits the knees

CathyandLaura: I bought this skirt for burns night, for the price I wasn’t expecting much…. But wow! Amazing quality the fabric is so lovely! Even nicer than the photos. The photos don’t do it justice. I’m a size 12 to 14, I wanted this to be longer on my because I’m 5 foot 7 I didn’t want it being too short, so I ordered a size 14, it’s really really big BUT it comes down to my hips making the skirt look longer, but still very flattering. Lovely really good quality, so in love!

C.C.: They say it should fit just below natural waistline I think, but that number is very different in relation to waist size for people of different shapes.

I need the top opening of this garment to be 30 inches (I thought, but I've found that 28" is better for me as I like it a little higher) so ordered a US size 8 because it says it is 30 inch waist. But, the top opening is actually 32 inches for this size. I have a 27 inch waist, 30 inches just below my waist and a 37.5 inch hip. I should have ordered a US size 6 or maybe even a 4, not really sure. Return shipping is expensive so luckily I have sewing skills. Basic skills are enough to alter this garment or take it to a tailor.

To make this fit I am taking 4 inches off the waistline, tapering to a total of 3 inches off the base of the waist panel. I'm thinking a 4 would be too small for me and a 6, still too big, so it's a gamble on size choice and I'd probably be altering it either way. Maybe with a 4 I could get away with just moving the interior button over though. Still way less time consuming than sewing from scratch.

A note to people in between sizes who may want to alter, there is a good seam allowance...

Heath: My wife and I do the Renaissance Faire thing pretty regularly. As my family has a lengthy Scottish heritage, I like to wear a kilt sometimes. Hell, I just like wearing kilts anyway. They're super comfortable, and look great. But, I digress. Anyway, my personal favorite kilt is my Black Watch kilt. I thought it would be fun to get my wife one to match as well. I am glad I did.

The quality of the skirt is very high, especially for the price. No, it's probably not as high a quality as you might find, but it's still great. Plus, I wasn't looking to pay $200 for something I wasn't 100% certain my wife would like (it was a gift). I would have not been disappointed if it had cost more, so for the price, I was thrilled. I am quite confident that my wife will get a lot of use out of this skirt.

It also looks great. Even ignorin g the fact that it is the Black Watch tartan, it's a great looking plaid skirt. It could easily be used in any number of situations when you would want a wool skirt. My wife has had the skirt for a week, and has already worn it just out and around with a white blouse. I'm looking forward to wearing my Black Watch kilt alongside her at the next Faire we...
