Suncast 50 Gallon Waterproof Outdoor Storage Box - Perfect for Small Spaces

Amazon Customer: The Box was pretty simple to put together, but the last piece, the lid, was defective. I contacted Amazon right away and Amazon contacted Suncast. Within 4 days they shipped me a new lid and I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. But, the best part of this story has to do with company values and customer service. Both Amazon and Suncast really did everything within their power to make sure I got a new lid and got it quickly, and both companies came through with their promise. This patio box is exactly what I wanted and its on my deck and it looks great. My sincere thanks to both companies. Teamwork is fantastic.

David JohnsonDavid Johnson: First things first, like so many other reviewers I originally thought I might have received a used one. There were brown stains around one of the holes and a stray piece of brown packing tape on one of the pieces. After getting it together, I think those things might be just a remnant of the manufacturing process and they didn't affect the look or function of it at all. Also, it would be near impossible to get this thing back apart to return it.

I got it because I was sick of throwing out my charcoal and smoker supplies every time they got wet in the rain. It fits a large bag of Kingsford coal, large bags of apple wood chunks and Traeger pellets, my coal starter chimney, grate hook, kitchen torch, and some rags, with plenty of room to spare. It is also very sturdy. I weigh 260#, and it doesn't give or buckle even slightly when I sit on it.

In addition to being sturdy and functional, it also looks nice and doubles as extra seating. I anticipate getting many years of use it of this box as a barbecue supply chest, and I will probably get a second one for kids toys. Very happy with this purchase.

midwest gal: Box was beat up on 1 end, black grease + a few scuffs on the hard plastic corners as we pulled it out of the cardboard box - not happy w. that. Simple corner protection would go a long way... there was none. :-/

However, assembled in less than 10 min.s. Hubby & I both sat on it - granted, we're not lrg/ heavy but still... VERY STURDY box! Lid aligns correctly, closes flat.

Keeping this in our porch for emergencies: water, sleeping bags, etc. We live in tornado ally - 2020 derecho was devastating. Always prepared for bad weather but this will be helpful. Nice to have everyth. in 1 spot. Suncast deck box looks nice, roomy storage, doubles as extra seating. For the $ spent, wish it wasn't already scuffed, but all-in-all, will serve it's intended purpose!

MJR: I needed something to store my gardening tools and other outdoor items. I was not so sure about what to expect with this. But I am very pleased. After I assembled it, both my wife and I sat on it at the same time and it held up very well, much to her surprise. I have had this for a while and I have had no issues with water getting inside. It is not air tight so spraying it straight on its side may have water go up and under the lid (I am not messy with watering so this has not been an issue). I am very happy with this purchase.

Emily Allison: I use this to keep my two blue recycling boxes in and it works great, keeps everything dry until garbage day. Could be a little more higher quality but the price is right and it looks nice enough.

NikkiL: I have this box outside and use it to store my recycling for the week before I take it to the curb. It works perfectly and looks really nice. Super easy to assemble and very sturdy. I do t know how it is in the rain yet, hence the 4/5 stars.
If it holds up with the rain then I’ll be buying a second o e to store my patio cushions.

Carol F.: we got the suncoast DB5500 and we are just thrilled with it we bought the bench box for our dock we were quite pleased needless to say as to how easy it was to put together it came with no real directions as to how to assemble it you don't have to be a rocket scientist to put this together it comes with 6 panels top bottom 2 side panels and an inside floor panel all you need is common sense to bring it all together it took us about 15 minutes when it was all assembled the last part was the lid it was a little tricky because the latch part didn' exactly fit but if you line it up just right all you have to do is press down hard on the lid and it locks perfectly this is a perfect t storage item for our dock needs and believe it is water proof we had 2 torrential down pours since we put it on the dock and not a drop of water got into it it really looks great and for the price it is unbeatable
