Vincent: First, let me start off by saying I have Raynaud's Disease, which means I need much warmer gloves at much warmer temperatures than any normal person. Simply put I own Gortex gloves, Thinsulate gloves and the like, and they do not help much at all.

Short version: Today I tested these gives at 15F. They were awesome. I have been using them for weeks now, but today was the coldest I have tried them in.

I wear these while running. Today, for example, I was running into a steady wind, it was snowing, and the weather people tell me it was 15F. By using these gloves with 1 Hot Hand in each, I was able to stay out for hours without any issues. To compare, because of my Raynaud's, 40 degrees is too cold for me to be in for more than a few minutes.

Here are the important points:

PROs
--Comfortable
--Heated by Hot Hands or similar product
--Finger glove/mitten switching helps regulate temperature
--Magnet to hold back mitten works well
--Finger material is thin enough to allow function

CONs:
--Not touch screen (but that is easily fixable)
--If you do not hold the fingers when you pull them off, they will turn inside out, every...

CarlW: I bought these gloves for a February birdwatching trip to the Duluth, Minnesota area. I already had two pair of allegedly good winter gloves, neither of which prevent my fingers from becoming achingly cold in weather below 20 Fahrenheit, and I was desperate for a solution that would work better and still let me operate binoculars and a camera in much harsher conditions. These did the job, somewhat to my surprise. Temperatures were in the -12 to +10 Fahrenheit range the whole time, but I never experienced painfully cold fingers. When my fingers did start to feel chilly, flipping down the mitten tops (with handwarmers installed) took care of the problem. I really like that having the warmer pocket in the mitten places the heat source against the fingers; I've tried tucking handwarmers into the palm of a regular glove, and it's nowhere near as effective. One thing I don't know is how much difference wind would make, since I've only tried them in light winds so far.

The glove material is surprisingly thin and fleecy, and the imitation-leather palm is plastic-y, so I'm not sure how well they will wear, but they actually kept my fingers warm, which is the main thing, and are not...

JS: I bought these because my son has a problem with his finger losing circulation in the cold due to a crush injury years before. While all fingers get cold this one get white and painful. We’ve had really fridgid temps here being in the single digits in the daytime. He’s used these with the heat factory packs and did not need to come in and warm up his fingers like he usually would. He loves them. They also feel really soft and flexible and the mit/glove feature makes it easy to use fingers when needed and warm hand with mit. I have not tested without the heat pack, but I bought a 2nd pair for me due to my reanalds syndrome and think these will do nicely. We even got a few uses of the heat pack by putting in a zip lock and pressed out the air before sealing so could use it next day, they heated up once out of bag. Really great product. I’m happy!

Nathan E. David: I really like these gloves. I used them on a hunt last week, and they worked nicely. Some people claim that they are worthless because the little heat packs fall out. That is not the case at all. Mine stayed in nicely. I did slip them into the pockets and then turn them sideways so that they would stay in better. Maybe people aren't realizing that the warmer packets are longer than they are wide, and that turning them lengthwise will keep them in nicely. I haven't tested these gloves in extremely cold weather, like last year when I hunted in 7 degree weather, but I don't plan on doing that again in any pair of gloves or mittens. For the kind of hunts I will be pursuing, probably 20 degrees F, or above, I am confident that these little convertible mittens will work just fine. For the price you just can't beat them!

UPDATE: I also want to add that after finally trying the Heat Factory hand warmers in my Glove Mittens (the packets that came with them), I am equally as well impressed with the Heat Factory's hand warmer packets. I hunted again this morning, and it was about 32 degrees F outside until way on up into the day. Well, I had forgotten that I had Heat Factory warmers...

SJ: I bought these gloves for a weekend photography trip in northern Minnesota. Weather was 20 degrees without wind chill. They kept my hands warm and offered enough dexterity to allow me to control my camera although I still found myself having to take them off for quick work.

Where these gloves really fail is the quality of the craftsmanship. They arrived with the seams already splitting, showing the insulation underneath and I know that they will probably not survive the wash now that I'm back from my trip. In this aspect I was very disappointed.

Given the price point I would recommend them for a quick trip, but nothing that requires a lot of work with your hands and don't count on keeping them around for multiple seasons, Would not buy again.
