jeanette: I purchased several of these for Christmas gifts and sent back all of them. First, they are made with cheap material that makes a lot of noise when using. Second, they create a pressure point above and in front of ear. Third, they are difficult to fold back flat. Forth: the adjuster band does come apart..but I knew this from other reviews.
I instead got headbands that protect ears and forehead that can be worn with helmets for the same price.

Jon Jonson: As long as my ears are warm when I am outside, I am fine. I've tried many other earmuff warmers that fit behind the head and they were no where as nice as these.
