Lisa: This is an essential book to have in the classroom! Even though it covers complex topics it has been adapted for kids. Very thorough and well-written.

Gail A. Canizares: Sometimes the best place to start learning about something new or foreign to your own experience is a book for young people, or even kids. A well written book for kids presents the key points in a simple, easy to understand way. This is an important book about how to begin to understand racism.. I read this first so that I could move on to the deeper reality of the book for adults like me. People who are searching to understand racism and anti racism so that they, too, can join the fight to change one small piece of the world.

M.G.: My 8 year old and I have been reading this book together over the past 3 months. It deals with complex societal issues and difficult history of America while explaining clearly how it ties into modern day events .My son tends to be a bit more mature than his age so this book has opened up a lot of great discussions and questions. It doesn't hold the attention of my 7 year old yet but we will be rereading it as they get older and can understand more. I would highly recommend this book for parents and kids to read together alongside the other versions available for students and adults. There was a lot in here that I was not aware of as an adult and I will be following up with the adult versions of this book.
The fact is that race, the history of racial issues in our country, and the current racial/social issues in our country are difficult to navigate for many as we try to educate our children. This book is a great starting point to doing that. It doesn't idolize people and it shows the reality that even those we may admire from the past, can have flaws and made mistakes.

Mary C. Howard: Before I finished the first page of Dr. Sonja Cherry-Paul's remarkable book, Stamped (For Kids), I knew that I was holding something very special in my hands. That feeling only grew with each page – in fact, so much so that I was compelled to turn back to begin reading from start to finish again. While this beautiful book is written for students, it is also an invitation to teachers (and parents) so that we may open conversations in our classrooms. Sonja gives us a flexible template to do this in responsive, thoughtful and meaningful ways. Stamped (For Kids) should become a school-wide book study so that we might also open these same conversations among professionals to broaden the range of support for bringing them into our classrooms in honor of children. I believe that Stamped (For Kids) will change our understanding of racism and the even that led to it and continue to exist as well as the actions to support us in becoming antiracist educators, leaders and humans who recognize that our students deserve us to support this learning in our schools. This is a MUST READ book that should be on every classroom shelf.

David Louis Bryant: This book did not just give information, which is not wrong at all, but the call to application is what challenged me, and inspired me.
