SK: The blue color is awesome, though within six months it has faded to more purplish. That’s ok, I like purple. This version is actually small. I’d order the 600ml instead if I get a new one. The mug itself keeps the drink piping hot even in the winter outdoors by the campfire. Lightweight for backpacking. I’m a fan.

Natalie Wisdahl: Double wall does very little. I like it because it’s snow peak... but don’t expect a good double wall effect as you may be used to from other brands.

D Young: So, I've been a backpacker for more than 40 years, and finally convinced myself to purchase this, the gold standard of backpacking coffee mugs.
I should say that I've had virtually every kind of gear over the years, so I'm not easily impressed. Hence, the three star rating.
On the positive side, it is attractive, feels solid, and keeps coffee warmer than a single wall cup (I've had them all ... plastic, steel, titanium, aluminum, etc.).
On the negative side, it does not advertise itself as "vacuum sealed," and I believe it is not. For, though it keeps coffee warmer than a single walled mug, it does not keep it that much warmer. It's not like the new line of vacuum sealed, double walled mugs that keep drinks hot/cold all day. It's nothing like these. So, that means that it is a very expensive mug, not much lighter than an aluminum 10 dollar mug, that does not keep the coffee warmer much longer. Indeed, I can set my aluminum mug on the fire and heat it up repeatedly. With the Snow Peak, you do not ever set it on a heat source. So as it cools, you just drink cool coffee. And the handles are a little clumsy (no big deal); buy why even have handles? The mug does not get hot to...

Jeff Turnage: Great little cup, but with light weight it doesn't have a hefty feel. It's sturdy enough for backpacking. I weigh it as 112.2g = 0.247 lbs. It comfortably holds 365ml (12.3oz) and 463ml (15.6oz) to the brim. With a little practice you can use this to pretty accurately portion out the amount of water needed for a freeze dried meal. Being double walled you're not supposed to place it directly on a heat source to warm the contents. I wanted a lid for it and found that Klean Kanteen Pint Lid for Kanteen Pints & Tumblers fits perfectly. That lid does not create a spill proof cover. It does help to keep the contents warm (or cool) and bugs out.

oldmanwalking: Can't believe I spent this much on a mug, but it was worth it. Hiked out in the woods Monday, hung the hammock, and spent the night.
Woke up to cool mountain air and leiserly enjoyed my morning coffee. It stayed hot far longer than I expected and the outside never got beyond slightly warm. I agree with another reviewer, the handles were not needed even when the cup was filled with boiling water. Very lightweight, and no burned lips. Wished I had purchased this years ago.
