SJOYBRING Double Din Car Stereo with Voice Control, Apple Carplay and Android Auto Compatibility

Charlie: I bought this for an older Toyota Sienna 2005 LE. I had to figure out the wiring harness and DIN plate but once I watched videos, it was fairly simple. Wiring does require some wire nuts and electrical tape as well as researching how to take apart the radio area/dash for your particular vehicle. Running the camera to the back was problematic on this minivan due to the length of the cord. I had to buy an extension cable and also picked up a license plate camera mount that were fairly inexpensive. Backing up is now almost like my Prius and makes it well worth the cost from a safety and ease-of-use standpoint. As for sound, it’s excellent quality but keep in mind that much of this will be your particular sound system.

I did encounter one issue at first in which the built-in mic didn’t work. I tried an external mic to the back of the radio and this also didn’t work. Then I thought it was my setup but it turned out it wasn’t. I wrote the company and they immediately sent me out a new one for which I give them 5-stars for great customer service. The mic works on this just fine and I can make calls and issue commands hands-free.

William: I got this unit mostly to make my 2012 Jeep Patriot have more modern radio functionality (Apple CarPlay/Android Auto). The unit functions pretty decently for a radio at this price point. The touchscreen isn't as snappy as most modern touchscreens, but it functions well enough. The sound quality sounds just as good as my stock radio, but it does have a better EQ system than the factory radio. Also, you will loose the ability to fade (front/back) if your car has a factory amplifier. This is true for all aftermarket radios, however. You also can only use CarPlay/Android Auto via the front USB, not with Bluetooth. The CarPlay UI functions well. The system's own UI, however, is just okay. It can be a bit weird to navigate through, but you can get used to it.

I've yet to install the rear camera, so I cannot fairly review that part of the system.

I do wish they would provide an easier way to update the unit's firmware, wallpapers, and boot logo. You have to get in contact with them directly via email or Facebook for them to update these. They do not have a website or anything of that nature that could readily provide this resource and information. I do think this should be...

Darren E. MontjarDarren E. Montjar: Finally got around to installing this in my '05 Porsche Boxster.

A caution to other Porsche (987/997) owners: if you get the Metra 911 dash kit, this stereo will NOT FIT in that kit without some extensive dremel work to the Metra kit. It’s just a few mm too wide. I had to dremel off the stereo’s trim attachments as well. It’s not the fault of the stereo. I just didn’t measure before I bought.

The unit itself is your straightforward double DIN/half depth common with modern head units that don't have CD drives. Comes with just about everything you'd expect, including a backup camera, but no external mic. I'm guessing there's a mic on the face but the instructions don't say anything about one. I just know it it works for Hey Siri activation and BlueTooth audio calls. People on the other end say they can hear me just fine. I did not hook up the backup camera, because I am lazy.

Pros

Physical volume knob! And physical buttons for next track/previous track. Honestly the fact it has a physical volume knob and CarPlay were the two reasons I bought this unit.
