Mark Loveman: I bought this pump to have a spare pump i currently have a 1/6hp and its over 20 years old and still works, if this pump is as good as my old pump I would totally recommend this brand its one of the best pumps in the world. As I haven't used the new one yet.

Todd Lefebvre: It was seized before I unpacked it. Not sure how often this happens but the first ump I bough here was unable to pump.

LStJames: This is a great submersible pump. I generally use it to remove excess water from an on-ground wooden pool (15 x30). You connect it to a hose and, it can be put directly in the water, and it pumps rapidly. If you have an area where you need to remove water, but it is very shallow, and the water is coming slowly to the bottom of the pump (making that strained sucking noise), you can put the pump inside a plastic container with holes on the sides (bottom part), so that the water fills the plastic container and keeps water coming towards the pump. Have had mine for many years. It is sturdy. Excellent product.

Joe Fleming: good power --- I shut it off half way while pumping out a hot tub to give it a break but I don't think that is required.

Mike and Kelly: I bought this to pump out my crawlspace after my built-in sump pump failed. I had no idea just how much water was down there and I ran this pump every day for over two weeks. I did turn it off at night since I couldn't monitor it. The pump ran great with no issues with a strong steady flow out of a garden hose I attached to it. Even when it seemed like there was barely any water left on top of the vapor barrier, it just kept coming and the pump did great handling it. I checked it frequently worrying that the water level would be too low for it and burn out the motor but it never had any issues. Although I replaced my built-in pump, I'm keeping this handy for backup and other purposes. My garage floor accumulates a lot of water from melting snow in the winter and I plan to hook this little guy up to keep it a dry.

Toby: Purchased a Geyser III classic back in 1993, used it every weekend pumping water out of rain barrels.... worked great for 18 years then the electrical shorted out. I order the simer 2305 on Saturday it was delivered on Tuesday ... regular UPS. This was quick. Awesome I needed it to pump the water off my pool cover (back into the pool).
Plugged this in, no extension cord ... this pump just made a slight humm.
I submersed in water... no pumping.. just slightly humming. I called Simer and they said its defective.. return to amazon.
Aside from it not working, it seemed cheaply made. The instructions to take off the bottom screen is not clear and you are afraid to break the cheaply made plastic clips.

Thomas G.: I purchased this pump for use in my home construction area that is prone to flooding.

Description:
I won't rewrite the manufacturers description, but would like to note the very durable impact resistant case, and the highly stable, upright position of the pump due to the wide base and low center of gravity.

Put to the Test:
I've used this pump outdoors on more than twenty occasions, twice having continuous pumping for over 36 hours. My home expansion construction site floods during heavy rain from soil and roof runoff, and every time I have successfully removed about 99% the water with the Geyser II. Sometimes the water was quite full of silt and plant debris, but the pump never stopped working. (I took another reviewer's suggestion to drill holes in a plastic 5 gallon bucket. This worked nicely to limit leaf debris from clogging the pump base.)

Specification:
Curious about the 1260 GPH spec, and also interested in calculating how much water I had pumped, I performed a calibration of the pump under typical conditions at my site. I placed the pump in the aforementioned hole riddled bucket with the pump base submerged approximately...

Mike Ressler: I just used this pump to flush out my tankless water heater and it worked flawlessly. It maintained good pressure for the 45 minutes I ran it. It did start to heat up the vinegar quite a bit after that amount of time, but I don't think it was a problem. I would recommend this pump to anyone needing a utility pump for small jobs like this. I haven't tried to pump out a hot tub or anything else, so I can't say if it would be good for this purpose or not. I should mention I used the adapter and a laundry hose when flushing my tankless heater. The pump was situated about 3 - 4 feet below my tankless heater.

Now this is the 2nd pump I received from Amazon. The first one came and was missing the adapter and appeared to be used. I immediately told Amazon about it and they shipped me a new one in 3 days, and sent me a postage paid return label so I could just drop the old one off at the post office. They also offered me a sincere apology. I had over a month to return the old one (before they would charge me for it). I thought the service I received by Amazon was excellent, and would highly recommend them for any product you wish to order.
