Purchased large as per chart. Fit nicely - as season progressed seemed a bit loose.

Kristin L: I think calling these “high waisted” must apply to short waisted people only. These still hit fairly low on me, leaving unfortunate spillage reminiscent of the top of your morning pastry. Did not like. I was hoping they would sit higher, like closer to a natural waist as most retro styles do.

I gave 4-stars though since the material seems great, and maybe on a shorter waisted person these would be lovely.

andrea wilson: Purchased this in several colors because it has a good fit. It covers without looking matronly. This style with the variety of colors available have made it easy for me to pair it with different bikini tops. The fabric is stretchy but not too stretchy and the quality is decent. I’ve worn them out on the boat quite a bit and they seem to hold up well. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on the fit.

Abigail: These bottoms are super cute and seem to be good quality. I ordered the army green in small and they fit great for my size! I'm 115lbs, 5'3" and pear shaped. As much as I loved the quality and color of these bottoms I ended up returning them.

As a pear shaped with hip dips they were not flattering for my build at all and unfortunately made my hips look wider and accented my hip dips all the more. Sigh. I believe this is because of the texture difference on the sides. So if your build is similar to mine, take note! Otherwise, I would highly recommend these!

Carmon: I purchased blue in Medium, and they superbly fit my male body; waist in the 36"-inch realm. I always look, before taking a chance, at the component materials. These are 18% Spandex with no cotton; the pictures show them as being firm and almost old-fashioned in their high-waisted, ruched style; and indeed that describes precisely what I received.

These are very sensual to wear, because they are built girdle-strong; they love being on one's body. As I'd expected, they don't flatter so much as feature, in a rather, what, utilitarian or standard or unassuming way, "I'm at the beach now and this is what I look like" way. I do believe this was the standard style of beach exuberance when I was too small to remember in the late 1940s and 1950s. It was more about picnics and less about fetishes then, and Oh My how these modern fabrics would have been appreciated in those post-war years. So if you can relate to that, I'd say you'll really love these: they remind me of "swimming trunks" and a kind of bring-your-own-sensuality of those times.

These have ruched sides, meaning to some extent your fit is (almost) guaranteed. I love them. But keep in mind these "bathing shorts" or...

Mrs. M-R: I have bought 2 of these bikini bottoms now, they are honestly the most flattering, high-waisted bikini bottoms I own and the least expensive. (Other ones I have: Athleta - too cheeky, Title Nine and Prana- not flattering enough, didn't quite hide the pooch). However, depending on how much use they get, they only last about a year before they get stretched-out/worn looking. However, for the price, you can just get another one in another color!
