It started shutting down intermittently recently, and now it just has a black screen trying that tries to power up and just cycles on and off never turning on or even getting to a point where I can troubleshoot it. Repair forums say it’s common with this model - a faulty ribbon in the power line and that it’s unrepairable.

Benito Robles Jr.: I would give this 5 stars but I noticed after a couple of months that it had a bad pixel . Good picture, color sharpness.

RR: Update 06/17/2023:
Tried HDMI input again, and it worked without blinking this time! I was confused at first, but after some digging, I learned that it was most likely fixed in an automatic firmware upgrade. I have the TV connected to wifi, so it can automatically update on its own.
My TV's current firmware is 1420 (you can see yours in Menu -> Settings -> All Settings -> Support -> Software Update). Searching online, it seems that Samsung has been automatically upgrading their customers' TVs to firmware version 1420 in the December 2022 - January 2023 timeframe. I don't know when exactly my TV was upgraded, but evidently it was sometime after I wrote my initial review, and the upgrade fixed the HDMI blinking issue for me so that I don't have the blinker complaint anymore. As of firmware 1420, it seems to not blink randomly anymore when HDMI is the input source.
I see some people online complain that the 1420 upgrade made some aspect of color or appearance worse for them, but, for me, I'm very happy with the upgrade because I really wanted to use this with a PC as HDMI input, and I can actually do that now! In fact, I'm writing this review update...

Tracy: Yes! The setup was blaing fast and easy. The ONE remote instantly found my old SOny DVD player which is not blu ray and only connected via AV cables. That remote system had all the codes stored and ready to send, it took only 2 tries for it to power off the DVD player, and I was watching Rizzoli & Isles in a flash. No troubles accessing the streaming apps. I bought and really like the pricey 5 ch speaker setup, too, plug in a few things and BAM automatic pairing, ready to blast 0 to 100. (The name of whatever they are technically called escapes me now but they came as a bundle.) Do you know that when I put the TV and speakers bundle in my cart, there were 3 available, and by the time I was off the phone with Amazon about the return of prior Sony TV - all three were sold, in less than 5 minutes! A popular bundle and I can see why. I truly advise you to not make the same mistake I did, just buy the Samsung NOW and don't worry, you'll have an easy time setting it up, and will like the package. Here's the nightmare I had with buying Sony first, in case you do not believe me that the Samsung is the best first choice:
I actually bought the same class Sony smart TV with sound...

Ryan: We’ve loved this TV for the last 3 years…..until today. Crystal clear, quality picture. Today the screen just started blinking on and off without ever turning on completely. Unplugging and plugging back in didn’t help. Continues to do the same thing. I made the mistake of not getting an extended warranty. Lesson learned. Disappointed that it didn’t last longer.
