Loren D.: My 3 month old has very sharp nails, and hates to have his hands messed with. We got this and it's an absolute game changer! It's so quiet, I can get both hands done in about 2-3 minutes total while he is asleep. I tried it while he was awake, and he didn't fight me much. Still easier to do while asleep. Honestly, I wish we had this when he was born. This would have saved a lot of fuss and scratches. We are also going to get this for any expecting friends or family in the future. Absolutely worth it.

Donovan: It works good but wish speed was a little slower. Even on the lower setting it felt too fast other than that it's a good product easy to use.

ElizabethElizabeth: Purchased this about 3-4 months ago for my now 7-month-old-son whose nails grow like the chia pets (I had to clip his nails 2-3 times a week) & it works great for us. Even dad can trim his nails now without being scared to hurt him. The motor is not as quiet as it claims to be, especially for those little curious babies that can hear a water drop like ours & the light is not dimmed to try and trimm at night. When we first got this, we tried filing our son's nails at night (he was ~3|4 months old), but he woke up real quick due to the motor and light. So, I've learned to file his nails while he's feeding or when we're getting him ready for bed and the lights are still on. He has now adapted to the electric filer, which has made it easy to file his nails whenever it's needed.

He's a little curious George that likes to touch the pad while it's trimming his nails and it has never hurt his hands. He's actually able to stop the trimmer when he gets a grip of the pad and he's never been hurt by it. I've never had any problems burning his skin as I read in some of the reviews, but my son's nails are pretty thick. Also, let's have some common sense here & not file one...

AvidEyeAvidEye: Our son is 2 and a half years old. We've constantly struggled with getting him to let us clip his nails. We saw this product and decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised. He really enjoys using the nail filer.

It's a pretty interesting product - I was initially worried that he may hurt himself if he took the nail filer and used it on its own. However, it has 2 speeds (and 2 directions) so it can run pretty slowly if he's holding it and additionally if he presses it into his skin the head will just stop. I feel comfortable with him using it on his own, which was nice for helping him build trust with the product.

We filed his nails a week or two ago and they're starting to grow back now. Soon it'll be time to file again!

One thing to note is that batteries are not included in the box. I don't see that as a negative (hence the review) but just a reminder that you'll want to have 2 AAs ready for when it arrives.
