s dubeau: I am a woman and had absolutely had no difficulty putting this box together! (despite an earlier off-putting review!). I like the smaller size and store hot tub chemicals in the box during our snowy and cold winter. Price is very good!

Jason: I have two deck boxes from another popular brand and these are so much better. They're all cheap plastic and poorly prepared with extra plastic bits from the molding that should have been removed. That being said this thing is sturdy and super strong for a plastic box. I was a bit wary of the lid being a bench but I'm 250 lbs and sat on it without issue.

Eric: This deck box is a pretty solid unit for storage of miscellaneous items. I use it for stowing my hot tub chemicals and pump in. It seems likely to allow a bit of water in through the floor/wall junction, so I’ve put items that nee to stay dry inside a plastic tote box inside.

Michaela H.: This is perfect for storing our kids outdoor toys when not in use. Easy to assemble and very sturdy. My kids have been very rough on it these last couple weeks. It was supposed to help us keep the yard clean form all of their toys, but it has become another big toy as well. The kids climb all over it and so far it has held up to the abuse. It seems pretty weather-proof too, but we haven’t had much for bad weather since we got it, so we are still waiting to see about that. I don’t need to to be perfectly water tight, as long as things stay mostly dry. If I think of it, I will update again after it’s been through a good rainstorm.

PattyT: I have a small mailbox and get a lot of packages from the post office and several other delivery services. Most of the time, the drivers will just toss my packages on my front steps or by my garage. I saw this deck box and wondered if it would be a good idea to use it for packages, especially in bad weather. It was not hard to put together and bigger than I expected. It is very sturdy and a nice chocolate color. I put a sign on it telling delivery companies to put my packages in the box and it's worked great. I know where my packages are and they are kept dry when it is raining. There is plenty of room for several packages and it looks nice. It helps the delivery people to know where to leave my packages. I bought some specific stickers that stand out telling all delivery companies to use the box and it's been great. I wish I would have done this years ago. I am impressed with the sturdiness and quality of this box.

Keith G.Keith G.: Usually when I think of making a purchase I read the negative reviews first. That way I get an idea of what trouble I might be getting into, or at least an idea of what to look for if I purchase the product. After reading the reviews I decided to purchase the product and deal with the negatives to have it meet our needs. The specific complaints were that it does not stay together, it is not water proof, flimsy design, falls apart when lid opened, sides "pop" together but don't stay... I could go on and on about all the negatives so I was prepared to address them because we wanted to store all our pool toys, games, life jackets for kids, etc...
So when the package arrived there were six sturdy pieces of molded plastic and a small plastic bag with 4 screws and two plastic strips, and of course a sheet of directions. Now being red blooded american male of course I did not read the directions and attempted to assemble the box with my wife. You can say I think I hit every negative aspect of this box that was written in the reviews. However, my underlying thought was nobody would sell something as stupid as this! -It shipped in a smaller package than anticipated, which makes it possible to sell such an item and have it delivered from the internet.
-It was easy enough to put together, and the process was quite efficient and ingenious - it's strength is mostly derived from leverage; the leverage coming from each and every side (imagine folding the flaps over one another with a cardboard box).
-There is a solid amount of space; much bigger than I thought it would be when I first got the pieces out of the box. Quite deceptive, even in person!
-It's probably reasonably durable, though it's winter here now, and I'm not sure how much that durability is dissapated in the cold.
-It can be locked.

Cons:
-It's probably not completely waterproof considering how easily it was assembled - all the sides slide into one another and have edges that snap into the bottom; that's it... I'm mostly concerned about water getting in from the bottom, as I have it stored in an area that has a potential to flood slightly. I fear that if water reached a level higher than the bottom (flat) panel it would probably seep in from all sides. I can't say this for sure, yet. Only time will tell,...
