Benjamin: I like this big book of Mad Libs. It is a perfect, east way to teach parts of speech to kids and enables my 7 y.o. to have fun interactions with her adult cousins. They can all laugh together.

Nell J: Bought this as something to keep the kids occupied when are out and about and not wanting to reply on screens to do so. My 7 & 9 year had a blast going around asking their Aunts and Uncles to collaborate on the stories

Chips: I use these in school to teach parts of speech to children who just don't get it, or don't want to get it. With Mad Libs, each student is asked to fill in a blank (verbally) in a story that is written out. It concentrates on Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives and Adverbs. You then read the story, which has become hilarious. We do one of these a day near the beginning of the day. All of my students (ages 5 - 15) have made dramatic improvement in their understanding of these parts of speech. One student (age 12) was convinced that he could not learn these or understand how the English language works. He is now the one who looks forward to this story the most. Even the 5 year old has learned these four parts of speech, and I prompt him on what he has How? When? Where? etc.) but he is doing really well with learning. As far as the age person I got this for is the 12 year old. It should be easy for him, but was difficult at the beginning. The stories are advanced for the 5 and 8 year old children, and the 15 year old does well with them The best part of Mad Libs is that they are fun, silly, and educational (but the kids don't know that last part!!)

Niko: Before buying this I had only ever played madlibs online by myself, a fun but not entirely engrossing experience.
Playing madlibs with other people is incredibly good fun whether you're playing with kids or adults (especially with a few drinks in them). Some of the madlibs in this book are rather US-centric or a little dated, meaning that young children especially might be lost on the premise of a few of the stories but they still usually laugh their heads off at the nonsense of it all.
This is a rather large package so ideal for home. It is about an inch thick and A4 in dimension so ideal for coffee tables but less so for travel. We have taken ours on two holidays though and it has kept us all entertained during airport waits, flights and long drives.
Well worth the money, every family should own a madlibs book!
