Fleur: Lots of excerpts about the time which makes the book more than just a biography. History of first air flight, cold war, space race, etc. A must have.

nnps: I purchased this for my 6 year old for a school assignment. Not only did he love it but I did as well. I wasn't born when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon and although I knew he was the first man to walk on the moon, I'm embarrassed to say I never took the time to learn about his life. Together my son and I learn so much about Neil Armstrong! I highly recommend this book. I look forward to reading others in the series.

J. Foster: I purchased this book for my 3rd grade son, who needed a 100 page biography book to do his school book report on. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase as the book had good info, was reading level appropriate for my child, and he found it fun and interesting to read. We have already been shopping other titles in the "Who Was" series, as he will need another book report book of the same style for later in the year.

Pandorarising: A brilliantly quick introduction to the first man on the moon, which for children is a good starting point into general knowledge. My only criticism is that the language is a bit too simple for a bright 9 year old but after reading now 4 in the series, his understanding of the events and characters frequently appears in conversations, where he makes connections with these historical events. It serves its purpose but it would be great if the series could create a slightly advanced range.

mommab3: My 9 year old son loved this book. This was one of three he read in the series. Walt Disney, Neil Armstrong and Albert Einstein. Each were great reads and he loved the information he got from the books. I enjoyed him reasing it out loud to me the second time he read it. My sons 4th grade class was assigned a biography book to read and report on. There was plenty of information as far as where they were born, how they accomplished what they each did and some sideline info on each of them that was interesting. However, the size of the words to a page and the difficulty would be more appropriate for 3rd grade not 4th.
