phone personphone person: Update 7/18/2021
I fixed the Ring Doorbell 3 Solar Charger, it had the jumper connector wire which connects up between the Ring Doorbell 3 and the Ring Doorbell 3 Solar Charger connected backwards, I verified this was the case with a volt meter. I ordered Weij 5.5V 291mA solar panels from Amazon and placed them in parallel with the Ring Doorbell 3 Solar Panels. To do this you have to open up the Ring Doorbell 3 Solar Charger and solder the Weij Solar panels in parallel with the Ring Doorbell 3 solar panels, also I swapped/corrected the jumper wire connection so that the +/- wires are now correct, also make sure you solder the extra solar panels on the input side of the regulator of the Ring Doorbell 3 Solar Charger. After doing all of this and reassembling the unit, my batter has been kept at 89 to 91% charge every day for the past 2 weeks, before it would discharge around 1.3% per day.
One note, what I got was Weij 5.5V solar panels, however the Ring Doorbell 3 solar panels are 6V, I verified this with a volt meter, if you are going to do this buy 6V solar panels, not the 5.5V panels that I bought.

R. Stark: Upgraded from the Ring Doorbell 1 which was using the old Generation 2 solar panel to keep the battery alive. Picked-up the Ring Doorbell 3 "Plus" and this was required to keep it charged. I did for a brief moment try using the old Generation 2 solar panel as a test run, but it was quickly clear that it wasn't going to be able to keep up. As soon I put this new solar panel in place, which is designed for Doorbell 3 and 3 Plus, it began charging the battery immediately.
Not sure what all the negative reviews are about because it works as intended without a hiccup. Obviously, if you're using max settings, full motion record and alerts, and recording 24/7 the battery will drain and not last very long. But, if you live on a quiet street and keep your motion zones where they don't pick-up every single cat, dog, or car imaginable, it works great. I still haven't needed to manually remove the battery and charge it with this solar panel. And, I never did on my old Ring doorbell either for nearly 3 plus years. All of Ring's products and software is top notch compared to anything else I've seen and I've seen all of them. They're not even in the same galaxy.

JR: When I first revived the item, it did not work. I called ring, and they connected it to make it work. I do not live at the condo, so that is the reason I purchased it. The battery dies after a month and 1/2. So that means I must fly down to charge the battery every 30 days? Does not make sense. Yes, the sun does hit the front of my door area. Did it disconnect from Ring? Maybe you have to be there to discount and reconnect the Solar device. For Ring to test the device. Let me know when Ring comes up with something better.
**UPDATED REVIEW 4.29.2022** The solar charger is not the best way to go if it does not receive sunlight**
I changed my review to 5 stars now because of the great and wonderful customer service. I was not expecting a call from Ring, but I did. First of all, the rep Aaron who helped me when way out of his way to make sure he helped me take care of my problem, boy did he. He is a wonderful and great person. Explained to me everything about Ring door bell and the one problem that I had was the internet was not very good at connecting to my unit. He helped me take care of that and then more. He recommend me to connect it strait to a power source. Which he...
